Bought a new 2011 Jonway in April this year (New Old) Being I have to split the block due to a massive air leak, what BBK would y'all recommend? I've heard 72cc is pretty good. Don't want nothing but cast iron though. That aluminum junk burns up like cardboard to me. You can scratch it with your fingernail, I've done it. So have have you?? Thanks For Any Help. Burn

No it's not horizontal. It's a 1E40QMB Minarelli JOG type engine. Where could I just buy a new engine? I'd rather buy a new one because it would be easier for me due to my health issues.

that is the horizontal engine scrappydog has complete engine it is 90cc engine, but is the short case not sure which one you have it is on bottom of the page www.scrappydogscooters.com/50cc_2stroke_Performance.html there are not many engines out there that i have seen, the kits are pretty easy to install, i think it would be easier than changing the whole engine took me around 40 minutes to remove old cylinder and install the new one, not sure about yours, but on mine you don't have to take the engine off to install the cylinder kit

not sure if any of the kits come with a cast iron piston, you might be able to see if a company like wiseco makes them for something like that www.wiseco.com/

ALL pistons are aluminum it is the cylinder than can be iron or aluminum . Iron is cheaper and more forgiving in a soft seize

I use this BBK and it runs strong shop.jupiterscooters.net/Cylinder-kit-75cc-Minarelli-10mm-wrist-pin-Made-in-Taiwan-MGMP0108-75CC-10mmpin.htmMake sure to double check the wristpin clips as I and another member had one come out and it ate up the engine . I put in one with the piston in my hand since limited clearance , as I removed the body and fan shrouds instead of dropping the entire engine assembly . Mesure your wristpins as they come in 10mm an 12mm but you may have a 10mm as I do . Wiseco is a high end company that machines parts out of billet instead of casting , which means it is stronger and they forged it once on some and twice on higher priced pistons . I used a WiseCo in my Honda CR125 and it ran like a beast with it being not only forged , but lighter , larger ports ( racing model ) and had a shorter skirt . It took me 40 mins to remove the pipe , main body as a single piece , fan shroud and the engine is so easy with only for nuts to remove and with angled sanp ring pliers the wristpins . I went to Oreillys and bought a compression ring plier as when I first rebuild a moped 30 years ago I broke the rings when I tried to install by hand . Make sure to use plenty of 2T oil or engine assembly grease instead of installing dry . Once you get the second ring started into the cylinder you may need a rubber mallet to tap it on down as I did . I put one the exhaust and did a test fire , let it idle and gave it a lil rev up and shut it down and retorqued the head nuts before putting the shroud and body back on
