Pistonguy . If you come a little farther south, Panama the fishing and diving are good .a friends boat just pulled a 46 lb Dorado out the other day and isle iguana is one of the good dive sights off the coast near Pedasi. We are just starting the rainy season so the water is calmer and this area gets the least amount of rain in Panama .we use the USD and many airlines have direct flights as we are the latin america hub, and not being biased we are also a safer and cheaper cou try than CR, in fact I have met many gringos that left there and now live here , not saying we don't have prolbems but not as bad as CR

Well glad you are not broken like the scooter , just a couple of things , also remember for a great glue job , crazy glue and baking soda , clean the part .line up the parts , lay a line of baking soda and then wet it with crazy glue , hobby shops sell this under the name of Bubbles , if you feel the need to pay more . And second I have run deer whistles for years on bikes , I believe they work but you must remember to clean the bugs out of them as they are in the wind stream and get bugs just like the windshield, good ones come apart for cleaning , cheap ones don't. Get better amd get riding

As a retired welder of 40 yrs the only way I would do it is to Tig weld it ,Lots of people have Mig welders now as they are cheap , they can be good but what they are really good at is making a bad welder look like he / she knows what there doing . It is real easy with a Mig to make the bead look good when there is a ton of porosity under it . I own all 3 types of machines , stick , mig and tig , I personally would reach for the tig if I was doing it , then after welding it stick it in a pail of floor dry of kitty litter and make it cool slowly

Not sure about this style of carb but would any of the honda , yamaha , os suzuki scooters come with a carb that would work as you are more likely to get a true quality carb from a dealer , at a more expensive price mind you . But like they say it only takes twice as long and twice the price to do it right the first time

As far as building a frame out of stainless , I would not do that , stainless is really fairly soft , aluminum would be my second choice , but aluminum has to be twice as thick as steel to get the same strength , my first choice would be chrome moly tubing .if its good enough for a top fuel car running about 7000 hp it should be good for a scooter .all airplane frames are CM so that should also tell you something . CM has to be TIG welded or as in the old days on airframes and early front engine dragsters, gas welded with oxygen and acetylene .in reality TIG welding is just a electric form of gas welding .what really takes time and patience is the fitting of the tubing as they all have to be coped to fit .but would be a fun project to do .and bragging rights when finished

Thanks geh3333 , that is a lot of mods but 70 on a small tire bike would be a blast , and you can still go with a little NOS if you really needed a boost . A bottle in the trunk and nobody would even know LOL

Being a welder /fitter all my life I would not worry about reusing it , if you bent it cold you really have not changed the metal structure, if you heated it you might have made it a little softer or harder depending how you cooled it

Another thing that glues plastic great is crazy glue and baking soda , fit the parts together , run a line of baking soda along the crack and then wet it with crazy glue , it wont break on that seam again

Just go on the net and order one that will work , no need to travel there , google small diesel engines , I am sure there will be a good selection . I have a 10 hp one from a chinese generator that died that I am going to put in a car , I want to build a 1902 curve dash Olds , just have to find wire wheels that look like dirt bike fronts except taller , or wagon wheels , both were sold on the Olds in the time .my thought if you are doing it for gas milage a diesel usually gets about 30% more MPG , and I think you could get that if you could get the RPM down on your gas scooter, these things screaming at 7 or 8 grand is not good for fuel milage, but I have no idea how to change that on a swingarm mounted motor
