I thought I would give someone in the charleston Sc. area a chance to buy my scoot. I took it completely apart and replaced all vacuum lines new fuel filter changed the oil and trans fluid fourth time they have been changed it has a little over a 1,000 miles on it and the only thing it needs are the two lower side panels from stupid people pulling out in front of me. I have broken my back ln three places and it scares the heck out of my wife every time I go for a ride It is the 2008 5yr model has the 257cc engine and clear title if you are interested send me a pm. $1,000 obo I am getting ready to post on graigs list but thought I would give some one in the forum a chance first. peacedawg

carb choke

Okay I got an answer about the fuel pump and choke but what about the fuel line. The thing is I never had a problem with my scoot when I lived in Penn. but when I had to move to SC. it hasn't run right. I was spending more time trying to work out the problem then getting to ride so I decided to work everything over I've replaced all vacuum lines I plan on putting in a new fuel pump haven't gotten that far yet. I work on it a little at a time mainly because I have broken my back in three different places and by about eleven am it gets up to about to over a 100 degree mark inside the garage no electric or vents (starting to run on again) Back to the move Penske Truck rental had me siphon as much gas as i could get out of the gas tank then run it until it ran out of gas after we moved it hasn't run right since. I have adjusted the valves and the fuel/air mixture like I said before any info replied will be appreciated peacedawg

I have a roketa MC-54-250B. When I first start it up according to the rpm gage it is running about 2000rpm with in a few seconds say about 30 sec. it slows down to 1500 or less then after about a minute it goes back up to 2000 could it be caused by the choke I am also going to replace the fuel pump is the mikuni md44 single outlet a good one to use or should I consider a different model No. also is the clear pvc fuel line thats used on mowers, weedeaters and such okay to use from the fuel tank to the filter and then on to the fuel pump. Thanks in advance for any info I am getting tired of working on this thing and not getting to ride peacedawg

I have had this roketa 250b for two years I just got done changing all the vacuum lines and was and still am going to change the fuel line to the filter and the pump I started it up after adjusting valves and the carb and noticed that the fuel filter was less than half full while it was running is this normal or do I have a problem with the fuel line or is something blocking the pipe coming out of the tank I would think gravity would keep the filter full even when the engine is running or not or do I have a pump problem thanks for any response

go to amazon.com and get the Motion Pro 08-0229 degree hex head driver it is made to adjust fuel/air mixture screw and then there is the tappet tool set Motion Pro 08-0073 it lets you adjust your valces much easier I got both tool sets and was not dissapointed with either one just go to amazon and do a search on the name and number

gas tank
by: peacedawg - Mar 9, 2013 15:04:46 GMT -5

I don't know whats going on with my 54 250b besides being a roketa before I moved to Sc. from PA. my gas gauge worked good. now no mater How much i put in it only goes up to the 3/4 mark that and when it gets down to less than 1/2 tank it quits running like it has sucked up something on the feed tube the filter goes empty but if I rock it back and forth on the stand sometimes you can hear a hissing sound and the fuel filter has gas in it again so my question is how hard is it to remove the gas tank so I can make sure there isn't anything floating around in there like a piece of foam or packing material I am getting tired of taking this thing apart to fix something as I have a bad back and it's a lot of trouble for me to work on it. next time I have to do something like this it will go up for sale!!
