If so, they will have TWO arrows on the tire, usually marked "FRONT" and "REAR". (And the reviews seem to indicate that yes, Pirelli recommends they SHOULD be reversed in front.)

This is pretty common, running a "rear" tire in front...though everyone I know doing this (mostly Goldwings) reverses the tire on the front. (Note that many tires designed for either wheel are SUPPOSED to be reversed in front.)

Thread a heavy cable THROUGH a chain and lock both. A thief may have chain cutters, he may have cable cutters...odds are, he won't have both!

Anyone here done the Blue Ridge? I'd be going in early July...400 Burgman with a big top box, running the BRP and probably the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
Suggestions for routes, gear, etc?

Call the station and tell them...one, they may pay to fix the scoot, and two, they need to know!

I would suspect that riding a 50cc scooter 50 miles pollutes more than the International I drive at work has in the ~105,000 miles on its odometer! No stock diesel after 2003 smokes.

Taos, NM is pretty far off the map, it's just a ski town. My new job is electrical maintenance tech at one of the resorts there. Even though i'm trying to use off holiday rentals it still runs in the $2000-2500 range to rent a truck. I really want to figure out how to take the scoot. But it seems that it will always cost more than the scoot is worth (not counting sentimental). I just checked...you can rent a pickup or a full-size cargo van from Enterprise (in Taos, NM!) for a weekend. It will run you about $250 for the weekend (pick it up at noon on Friday, return in by noon on Monday), mileage is unlimited.

Well, It looks like the hitch won't fit. Cutting the muffler tips off will not leave enough material to weld back up and modding the hitch is going to cost a good bit more than I want. I did have an amazing offer from Bandito2 to tow it out there on his trailer with his Silverwing. That would make an epic thread. So, There is a really nice TGB Delivery 50cc on CL Grand Rapids, Michigan right now... I'll just have to get a different scoot down there or a sidecar for my Triumph Bonneville so I can take my pooch on rides. Enterprise (and others) rents cargo vans & pickups...what about that?

Dude...you have the ratio reversed. It's like lawyers, politicians, and used-car salesmen: the % ruin it for the good ones.

Just HOW bad does a cop have to be for you to not defend him?

Most of the people who become cops are social rejects. They're the ones who in high school had the "kick me" sign taped to their backs. They become cops to reaffirm their over-bloated sense of self importance that stems from a profound inferiority complex. They've got a score to settle with the very society that rejected them. These people are especially dangerous because in addition to a Messianic complex, they have a serious need to be seen as important authority figures. The worst thing you can do is defy their sense of omnipotence. Even though police aren't the ones to "punish", they take it upon themselves to be judge, jury and executioner all too often. I've never once met a cop that I thought was a decent person. There's a paper thin line between cop and crook. No...there is often no line at all. The police should be treated like any other armed gangbangers. They are the world's most dangerous street gang.

I flatly refuse o us Paypal. The founder of www.paypalsucks.com is someone I knew personally...basically, they stole about $3000 from him and dared him to spend $4000 getting it back.
