People on motorcycles (non scooters) that feel the urge to over take you no matter if you are doing the speed limit, is like if their reputation where damaged if a scooter is ahead of them ...even if you're dragging the center stand.

Because a new seat and ignition-plus labor-probably cost moire than it's worth.

Last year was the first year Virginia required scooters to be registered. It was a $10 fee, no big deal. I just got the notice for my renewal and now it is $20.25. ? It doubled in one year? I think I can find the extra $10.25, but still... Seems like a bait and switch in a way. How much does registration cost in your state? Not a 2 year tag, is it?

If gun control laws are hard, how about sword control laws? Can you own a "functional sharp pointy thing"? And then if baddie comes breaking in, stab him in the nuts? Or at least slice open his guts--that's real bad to recover from. >'Kat Unless he is cranked out on something...in which case, unless you chop off his head, he might not even NOTICE!

...and hope one isn't having a bad day. He might decide that using you as a punching bag and tossing some meth in your pocket is a GREAT stress reliever!

If there is no title, its only a parts scoot. Do not make blanket statements. Offhand, some states DO NOT TITLE smaller scoots!

Hey gang, thanks for the feedback.... The deal is off. The seller wouldn't provide me the VIN through email... He actually told me he thought I was trying to scam him Like ? How could I scam someone asking for the VIN number? The scooter was 1:15 away and I wanted to run the VIN before I made the trip... So, after I received his reply, I broke off negotiations. Get the VIN, dummy up a bill of sale, get a title/reg, and steal it. Rare, but can happen.

I have never seen a dual-position tire that WASN'T intended to be reversed in front.

Atari called. They want their dashboard back! Seriously: what was with Honda and weird electronic dashboards in the 80's?

It comes out of storage next Saturday...I plan to get the inspection done at the same time, install my Best Backrest, and ride it!
Also need to get the Bestem box installed.

You may get around the amount you can sell so long as you are living somewhere that doesn't require registration of 50cc scooters. There is no limit to the number of bicycles you can sell, and scooters that don't require registration may fall into the same category. is their such a place in this land of the not so free? Off the top of my head, Connecticut doesn't tag 50's.

Didn't the Enfield Bullet have a FRONT drum until maybe ten years ago?
Then again, the Honda Nighthawk had a front drum to at least 1997.

That is GREAT! Back in the day, brakes weren't much of a consideration because they ALL sucked... We just accepted it. I'm glad these new bikes have REAL brakes! I find it ironic that some of the more popular cruiser bikes don't seem to do as well. I use to ride with a chap on a 2011 Boulevard 850 and that thing would miss stops that the scooter would handle with ease. That is one of the bikes that I have mentioned in the past as constantly sliding off the road or overshooting during slow panic stops. I was amazed that my mother's Suzuki LS650 still has a MECHANICAL drum in back. Honestly...one reason I opted for a Burgman over a Silverwing iss the dual front rotors with ABS.

Why? My grandfather's old 1911 was WW2 surplus...still works perfectly. (IIRC, the serial number is from 1938.) Heck, for a long time, he would put a couple hundred rounds through it every WEEK, (He'd go through a 10,000-round CRATE of ammo in a couple months.)
My uncle can still put the entire mag on a paint can at 50' ten times out of ten.
