Wow! Hope you recover well, that bent rod must have felt strange, besides the pain!
I'm tempted every day to take off my lid and swing it thru the windshield of some idiot cager on their phone I have to avoid. Some people shouldn't be allowed to drive any vehicle due to their inability to grasp the concept that they are driving a deadly weapon!

The kill switch shorts out the coil to stop the flow of electricity. Either the kill switch is broken, or the wiring to it is messed up.

Funny, I saw this video a few months ago and wanted to share it on here but couldn't find it again. How do they have their scooters setup that they can wheelie like that Very light roller weights, and putting their body weight as far rear as possible.

Hey Jerryscript, thanks for the tip. I didn't know there was a scooter scrap yard in town, other than some of the towyards, who seem to have hundreds of scooters that they don't seem to let go of. I don't know if they allow picking, I just noticed the scooters a couple months ago when I was heading downtown.

Take a ride dowm by the homeless hangouts near the interstate and MLK Blvd. There's a junkyard with close to a hundred scooters. I'm sure your abandoned find will be there soon.

Looks killer! Can we get the info on what primer/prep work and paint you used? Thinking when I get mine I might want to do a paint job to it too unless I can find the color I want. I keep it simple: -- sand pieces with 300-400 grit -- apply two thin coats of primer/filler -- let dry overnight -- wet sand with 400-600 grit -- apply 3-4 light coats of color -- -- 2 hours dry time between -- apply 2-3 light clear coat -- -- 1/2 hour dry time between -- let dry overnight and next morning -- wet sand with 800 till all shiny spots are gone -- wet sand with 1000-2000 till uniformly dull -- polish with compound till shiny, the more polishing the shinier it will get Best advice- be gentle when sanding, especially on corners and edges, better to take longer than to sand through your beautiful paint.

I miss Google Latitude. Looks like MyTracks may finally be a decent replacement. Thanks for the tip!

I was there on Monday, needed a new air filter for the 50cc, and turn signal relay for my 150cc. He always has a smile no matter how many weird parts I ask about!

A common practice in many forums is for the OP to edit the title to include [Resolved] at the end of a successful repair.
