Same thing happened to me with the orange boot, I'll never purchase one again.

You should be able to squeeze either brake for starting.

Not to change topic but is it possible at all to use the jug and head from a regular gy6 on a gy6b? Everything seems to fit good. Would the cam chain be too long? Could I just switch cam chains? Check the distance between the centers of the head studs, verify they match, and you should be fine.

Depends on the boot, some are little loose. The metal ones seem to be the tightest.

My nephew had BBKs installed on two scooters by the dealer (one was stolen). Each took a few hours. It should be a one day job. It actually takes about 1 1/2 hours.

I've had a stock head on the 83cc BBK in the scooter I gave to my nephew last month, the yellow one in my sig (now teal green). Works fine, and gives you a bit higher compression due to it's smaller size. IMHO, only bigger valves or a proper porting will make it better than stock.

You need to remove the cap over your air fuel adjustment screw. You cannot properly tune your carb otherwise.

Thanks for the replies, I'll give it a look. I have to replace the master cylinder soon due to a small leak while I'm at it. Not sure why I thought that clicking sound might be from the master cylinder, lol. If you have a leaky master cylinder, it could be the plunger making noise, but I would bet the "click" noise is the switch.

It's the brake light switch, usually located under the brake handle and reservoir, a part of the handle pushes the switch. Some are rectangular, others are round, most are black with two wires coming out of them. Check the handle tab to see if it broke off, if not, the switch is cheap to replace.

I don't trust him to remember to turn it off/on, last thing I want is a puddle of gas in my garage!

Is this the same scoot from A2Z mentioned in a different post? Just curious..... Yes, good people, not the cheapest in town, but I've been able to negotiate their list price down by $300+ on three different purchases!

My nephew's scooter was bogging today. Pulled the seat off, checked the carb attachments, checked the manifold, everything was nice and tight. Started to squeeze up each vacuum line, got lucky on the first one I checked. The vacuum line from manifold to fuel petcock had a hole in it. It was cut too long and melted on the head. I cut it back, had plenty left to zip tie loosely to the frame to prevent it happening again. Fired her up, took her for a test ride, no bog. Here's a pic of the hole, looks like it melted a bit, stuck, then got torn free.
