Sounds like your carb is running dry. or getting an abnormally large amount of gas. Ive had both problems before and same the cutting out symptom

Like all the oil comes out instantly and the bike lost a lot of power, but runs better when hot...
I'm thinking its the rings what do you think?

Have you changed the weights in the variator? Thats kind of a must with a bbk as the powerband has changed. You more than likely need to get lower weights, unfortunately part of tunning is trial and error. Stock gy6 50 is around 5.something or 6 grams ive found that going down slightly gives be better accel and top speed www.gy6150enginepartswholesale.com/popup_image.php?pID=27445

I'm having the same problem. Got a new exhaust with same results. Only problem is I bought everything backwards and ran out of money. The only problem i'm having is getting more gas. Its kind of easy to tell if your being restricted by air flow in and out or if its another problem. Try the stock carb and see if it makes a difference. The carb I bought a couple months ago will not agree with any bike or jet for some reason so i'm stuck with stock epa carb with stock jet .__.. Did you install the rings right? All three rings neeed to be degrees apart. (I'm talking as if the 3 oil rings are one) The three oil rings need to be 15 degrees apart. One way to rell if the exhaust is your problem is to take a test run without it. Just up and down the street not a full run. Are you 100% sure the cam chain is put back on the same way? one tooth wrong and it messes up the whole operation. I scratched the side of one link on the chain so I could make sure it lined up right.

When my valves are not closely adjusted this happens to me EVERYTIME.
They can't be Intake:.003 and exhaust:.005
They have to be close like In:.003 Out:.004
The oil is comming from the valve vent cover. There should be a tube leading from the valve cover the the air-box snorkel.
EVERYTIME I mis-adjust my valves this happens,
Overtime the valves close up. Sometime one closes before the other
Even though its new scooters are still flawed. Chinese like quality or quality.
Ive seen new scooters come with valves set too tight from the start.
I have a 2012 Tao Tao CY50-A
It responds better to .004 Intake and .005 exhaust but closer to.oo4
If the bike dosent start by its self within 1.5 seconds of pushing the button, something needs to be adjusted.

I know, I just found one for 35 and they normally run for around 80-up. I just wanted to know if it would fit
