I stumbled across this on youtube and thought that it would be perfect for some newer riders here on the forums. It certainly has helped me see situations that could be dangerous. Anyways here is a link. The guy narrating is called Mordeth and he rides scooters and motorcycles in the crazy cities of Taiwan. If he can ride and live, I think he has a point. Enjoy and feel free to add any advice for new riders.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I think anyone looking down on the vespa people are just jealous they can't afford them (I certainly can't afford one)

Looks pretty awful. The funny part is the neighborhood the picture is taken in, doesn't look like the best place to keep a gold convertible

Welcome, I am assuming it is an air cooled engine, so what is limiting you on how far you can travel is heat and comfort. Some air cooled scooters are very efficient, while others overheat very quickly. When the motor starts heating up too much is when you get parts breaking. Heat can even ruin your drive belt and engine. I don't know your exact scooter, but do some smaller rides and see how hot it runs and how quickly it heats up.

I agree with both comments. My scooter actually has a brake pedal on the floorboard for the rear brake, so it is taking a while for me to get used to not being able to put my right foot down for stability

A 150 can ride on the highway, I was just making the point that if those speeds arent necessary, the 150 is a better option.

I would go with the kymco, especially if you aren't doing highway riding. The 150 will have plenty of power and kymcos are pretty great.

Best of luck. I had trouble with my old Znen 150 being damaged in shipping (twice, sent one back because of really bad damage). Have a camera with you when you open the crate and don't let the driver leave.

I have a Honda Elite 1986 and it came with the manual. It says to change the oil after 600 miles and then a couple more times at 1500 and 3000. So maybe the 650 is just for the first change to make sure it is running well.

I had electrical issues with my scooter. The headlight kept burning out because there were no fuses except the main fuse on my bike. I was looking into someone fixing the electrical systems, but it was too expensive for my taste (just decided to ride during the day). I would think that headlight power affecting the motor performance would be something where electrical meets motor like the spark plug or something.

Thanks, going to look for the right belt from a higher quality brand today at local stores now that I know the number.
