Hello all this might sounds strange as could be but when i turn my lights on or high beams on my bike runs rough and bogs alot whenever either of those light switches are on. When i leave them off and only have my stock drl lights on that are on via ignition key the bike runs fine no issues at all i was just wondering what might cause this as my carb is brand new and has just been cleaned before this post. Thanks guys

You can turn the headlights off ? Most I have seen the headlight is always on but you can switch from hi to lo beam . If your having issues when you put on the hi beams it sounds like an electrical bug rather than carb . Do they light up normal on both beams or dim ? Could be a weak stator or battery low , as the stator charges the battery and powers the lights for most scooters . Lights than run off of the stator bright and dim with RPM changes where off the battery remain the same regardless of RPM

No the low beam headlight is always on and cannot be switched off correct only switched to high beam and the other light problem i have is when i swith my pilot lights on i guess you could call it when the brake light stays on and the two parkin lights that are orange in the front of the bike are on. Other then that bike runs fine so stator might be bad or low battery you said? Thanks

Sounds like a short in the wires or switch

You could up the idle a bit. Battery will always be low in the beginning. Increases voltage after riding a bit. See if the problem is persistent when your engine is warm (you've ridden at least 10-15 minutes).

I will do try that tomorrow but it seems like in the past the problem has persisted as time went on riding never got better the engine would still run rough and bog unfortunate

I had electrical issues with my scooter. The headlight kept burning out because there were no fuses except the main fuse on my bike. I was looking into someone fixing the electrical systems, but it was too expensive for my taste (just decided to ride during the day). I would think that headlight power affecting the motor performance would be something where electrical meets motor like the spark plug or something.

Test how many volts the stator is putting out,,I forget what wire it is? Test at idle then bring rpm up to 2500-3k and see.
Test volts at battery while scoot is running also low high rpm...
