True enough, rockynv, and did you know that inmates accrue Social Security while incarcerated? Evidently, it's because it is not their fault that they can't work and pay into SS.

Yeah, sadly, society has done very little to rid humanity of the habitual thief gene. Instead, our courts mostly fine them, then let them out so they can steal more stuff to pay the fine for stealing stuff. And it's big lawyer business to make the crook the victim if possible..(professional courtesy, I believe). Ride happy..

Yup. One bad turn does not deserve another. In the US, a good prosecutor could get the cager for assault with intent.

congrats, scootdude.. That is how you make a scooter or bike your own. Bet you will find that when you park it, as you walk away, you will look back and admire it.

Yup ATLATT. All The Locks All The Time. I throw my disk lock on even when I park at the convenience store if I'm going to be out of sight of the scoot. If people were honest, I wouldn't have to carry around a pound of keys for various things. It sucks to have your stuff stolen when you actually had a lock you could have used..

I was unaware that Jaguar vs 2 wheeled vehicle collisions were so frequent an occurrence that so much tech is warranted. Of course, auto manufacturers are under the gun to produce higher tech systems each model year to differentiate themselves from last years old, crappy, out of date, models. Although, it may be that Jaguar is simply re-programing and re-purposing some of their existing sensor suites and adding a few warning lights and alarms. I'm not familiar with Jaguars current back-up and curb warning systems. So this may not be a very expensive add on for them.

I've ran the interstate on my Roketa 250 a few times. Same thing, hardly anyone passing me, and most of the traffic around 70+ mph. Had a fair bit of throttle left, and room on the tach. Speedo reading 80, but sure it was off somewhat. Bike tends to float a little at those speeds, so I rarely take it off the surface streets. What WOT...

Tons of scooters in Vegas. Warm enough to ride most any time of year. Good roads. Nice places to go within 35 miles. Lake on one side, mountains with trees on the other. Lots of scooter dealers and parts vendors. Several scooter clubs, and a fair amount of "bike night" events for both motorcycles and scooters. Lots of traffic, but I doubt that it is worse for riders than anywhere else.. You are required to have a regular drivers license to operate a 50cc scooter, and can't ride if your license is suspended or revoked (think DUI). I didn't know till a couple years ago that some other states let you ride without a regular license.

Right on on the hard bags. They would look nice with a little slant and flair to them, but they aren't too far off from a lot of other hard bags for dual sports. Most of those are the flat ammo can style, if not actually ammo cans. Usually small and flat, probably to keep the width of the bike narrow for the trail. The price seems pretty good for it dressed as is. Hopefully it will be reasonably "trail proof". Thanks for sharing..

Scooter, some paranoia is a good thing. If we ride long enough, often enough, most of us will crash at some time. There are conditions out there that simply CANNOT be avoided. In the case of the avoidable ones, it often means giving up your right of way, hitting your brakes hard, or even pissing off the driver behind you because of the idiot in front of you. You will move on, but you will move on with a little more awareness, some experience from the accident that may aid you in the future. They are out to get you... Happy trails...

True enough that a lot of people (mostly on 150's, with the 1 removed from the decal) get away with it. But if the officer is having a bad day and checks the bike out, yeah. Impound, ticket for no registration, no endorsement, no insurance. Around $2000.00 in fines. If possible, take a MSF course on a 250cc motorcycle or greater. That gives you an upgrade path in case you want to move on to larger bikes. Besides, you will meet other riders in your area.. Happy New Year...
