California Scooter Company has finally gotten approval for their Adventure Bike from the EPA (California C.A.R.B. approval still pending). This is a Chinese manufactured 250cc liquid cooled and fuel injected six speed motorcycle they are calling the Cyclone. For those who aren't familiar with the "Adventure Bike" class of motorcycles, they are designed for touring and light off-road usage, the idea being you don't need a truck to haul your bike to the trail, it's an all in one experience. The Cyclone is a decent looking bike (in my opinion), though the hard case saddle bags need would get some sort of treatment or replacement if I bought one. At $3-4k (pre-orders can lock in $3k, after first run price goes up to $3.5k, and options may add on), with a 2 year warranty, so long as there are easily sourced repair parts, it sounds like a great deal for anyone looking to get their first Adventure Bike. Nice find. They certainly nailed the ADV styling. I remember decades ago when I bought a motorcycle that nobody had heard of: a Kawasaki.

One thing I really like is the 250cc size. The only part of off-roading I hate is dragging your bike over/around/thru something that is impassable riding. Anything above 250cc and you may need help from friends more often than not, depending upon your skill and strength of course! I would feel comfy taking this on a solo ride through moderate to easy terrain.

Right on on the hard bags. They would look nice with a little slant and flair to them, but they aren't too far off from a lot of other hard bags for dual sports. Most of those are the flat ammo can style, if not actually ammo cans. Usually small and flat, probably to keep the width of the bike narrow for the trail. The price seems pretty good for it dressed as is. Hopefully it will be reasonably "trail proof". Thanks for sharing..

CSC also assembles these nice little 150 and 250cc compact street bikes. I would consider one if they weren't hard tails. You need some rear suspension on our local concrete roads.
