Sounds reasonable to me. Being in Las Vegas, it's not really much of a problem. (though as I type this, it's 33 F, and was a chilly ride in to work. We even have a storm warning with 1-3 inches of snow predicted through Thursday). Happy New Year to all..

You know, I wonder if the water heater idea predates the enricher, and they just kept building them that way? Kind of like the idea of glove boxes and the form factor for car stereos. Anyhow, happy scootin' to ya..

Scooter, I have to bow out on this. But I feel your pain. I've tried to research that carb and part, and I just find no definition on it. Every schematic shows it, but no one explains it's use..Hopefully, someone with that carb setup will jump in, or Alley will have some info on it..

just guessing, but it looks like the carburetor water heater (unused) on lots of scooter carbs. On yours, are there any tubes or hoses connected to it? If it has been not connected, I wouldn't worry about it. More experienced minds will hopefully jump in here..

Yeah, Zhan, ride what you like. Lots of us have both motorcycles and scooters. I enjoy both, and use one to run parts for the other as needed. Most days, I don't know which I'm riding until I leave the house. And, you know, I don't know anyone who has actually taken a spin on a scooter that bad-mouths them.

Actually, on zooming in, there is underseat storage. The side panels come half way up, and there is a mesh partition the rest of the way up, and in front. It also appears as though this is a 200cc scooter made by "DFMOTO". Note that it is not "CFMOTO". That breastplate is just plain weird. A real fairing with some storage and a bit of windscreen would be far more functional if it is indeed a 200cc.. Jerryscript, where did you find this thing? Nevermind, found it. Scooterdepot. 200cc Sunny. Yeah, that front needs fixing, and there should be better seat options out there. But the price is not bad for a 200cc.

Scooter said "I'd suggest anyone try to actually make a product like you are talking about that is durable and looks "factory" and see how much time and money it takes to make one. Then at least double that "cost" to make a profit." And therein is the promise of "rapid prototypers" and 3d printers.. courtesy of the mars project.. If interested in this kind of tech, there is a homemade CNC project that incorporates the data to replicate itself.

Sucks, Scooter, but at least you walked away from it, sounds like.

Tonite I experienced something many of you probably deal with so often you will read this and say "meh." I live in Vegas, and tonite for the first time I can remember, we have low lying clouds, basically fog. I have never ridden through fog, and didn't know what to expect. It's very light (you can still see an entire block or more), so it doesn't build up enough on your visor to bead away, instead you have to wipe it every few minutes as the fog builds up on it. I don't know if those of you who deal with fog often have some tricks, but I definitely did not feel safe on my ride home tonite! Yeah, just got into work a few minutes ago. I don't think we get fog more than once every 4-5 years, if that. Almost constant hand wiping of the face shield is about the only thing one can do. At least most of the oil has been washed off the road over the last two days... Shiny side up, looks like we get back to some sun today.

Oh, yeah..Skunks and bees and birds.. I took a pigeon to the chest a few years back at 45mph. Fortunately, it slapped the fairing, bounced off the mirror and into me. Still hurt. Two weeks ago, a friend of mine was riding his triumph and had a large spider hit him and get into his shirt. Several bites to show for it. Large for here, of course. No match for those Florida spiders..

Plastics, on my MC-79-250. Not the body panels, but the cheap plastic indicator needles on the gauges. They curl upwards in the desert sun. Engine build (linhai) seems pretty solid after 9000 miles and 3 years. Oh, wait. Probably the weakest thing would be the headlights. Good enough to be seen, but I wouldn't want to depend on them at night away from the city lights.

Surfpick asked what the favorite part of riding is for you. I ask what the worst is.. For me, it has to be riding in traffic, a few cars behind someone smoking a really nasty cigar with the windows down. I get that maybe once every couple of weeks. I ride in rain, and at 110 degrees. I don't mind that. And I do realize the other side of the coin. In the spring, when the flowers bloom along the road, you experience them in a totally better way than a cager does. Same with the smell of the rain...

I'd like one, but I would have to put a spork holder on it.

I'm in Vegas, so basically an all year ride. Once in a great while we get snow, and sometimes around 30 degree weather. I have two windshields, one a cut down summer rider, and a tall winter one. Reasonably comfortable. And to Oldchopperguy, yeah, when we were young, we did things like ride KZ750's in the packed snow. Teaches you to real easy on the brakes... . Of course now, I've learned. I moved off the northern tier..
