Hey everyone I got a question . My floor boards on my scoot on one side were two meet have started to curl up at the junction , separating from the side lower rocker panel . I try and push then back down but i think due to sun they have molded them selves that way . The plastic in a softer plastic than the side panels , not as brittle , but they won't stay down . I have thought of taking a piece of aluminum tuneing and brace It against them forcing them back in place and another one on the other side to match although not needed as it is fine . Any suggestions or ther than replacing the floorboard ? Anyone else have this happen with their plastics ?thanks

Nice scoot , like the lights ;D , helmet looks great .welcome aboard. For those hills lighter rollers or sliders would help and with that BBK you have on the way , it would tackle those hills with ease.

[replyingto=paulgendek]paulgendek[/replyingto]"I was able to get up to 50mph today! What exactly is happening? When I'm at WOT, it doesn't go anywhere, then I throttle back for a bit, then I WOT again and get a boost. Can someone please explain what is going on? "
In the past and I don't know how much has improved in 13 years of vacuum operated petcock design , but the vacuum petcock if not given an adequate amount of vacuum can starve the carb at WOT . Like the carb is sucking up the same amount of fuel as the petcock can deliver or slightly more . Several bikes I had worked on in the past would do the same thing and when I would replace the petcock with a manual one the problem went away . Anyone else ever run into this or can tell me how efficient these little scooter petcocks are on fuel delivery ?

Disconnect your battery and charge it . Then update us if it starts/don't start. Alarm system may be draining your battery.

[replyingto=elw]elw[/replyingto]Battery should be putting out 13.5-14+ volts if it is only at 10 with just the ignition on I would say you have a dead or almost dead cell in the battery . But.....since you said you swapped it out with a new one something is pulling a huge load and the charging system can't replenish what is being drawn . Check that security system if you have one like Leo said , maybe disconnect it or take it out of the loop completely . To check the charging system with a volt meter simply connect the leads to the battery terminals and take a reading then turn the key on and start the scooter , then check the reading again it should be higher , although only slightly than the reading with the battery with ignition off. Maybe 0.5-0.75 volt more on these little guys .

I would say the mark is correct , like there is always a fluke but the odds are the mark is correct. It could be off by one tooth . That's happened to me many times in the past on motorbikes .

No need to take the head off just the valve cover and the stator cover to check the marks . You will have to take off the cam tensioner to get slack on the chain then unbolt the cam to reposition it with the proper marks on the stator .

[replyingto=pmatulew]pmatulew[/replyingto]Vinyl tape , I have done pen striping with paint back in the day but my hands just are as steady as they once were, lol. Tape is easier to correct a mistake from .

I would again check that you are is proper time and that there are no vacuum leaks like maybe a peace of dirt on the intake port seal or something when you put the I take back on the cylinder . Check the stator that is is on "T" and the cam that it is we're it is supposed to be .
