You'd have to re-jet to much larger than usual jets. It would probably increase engine torque by a little (like make it appear as if you had 25-50% bigger displacement). It's much better to just buy a scooter with a bigger engine.

I never charge mine neither, but I do notice it gets a little on empty (like the starter doesn't start as fast anymore), if it's not been used for 3-4 weeks.

The engines are solid. Like you mention, everything that's built around the engine/cvt is basically what defines the brand. And BMS uses some quality materials, but other materials are sub-par.
I personally didn't really like the 260 because; It has enough power, but it's so neutral to ride it. I would have preferred a (semi) automatic / manual motorcycle, rather than a cvt.

scooter 1, based on my problems with scooter 2. Scooter 2 looks great (the BMS), but it's a complex bike, especially the fuel injected bikes. You don't have the fuel injected bike there, because it's the 2008 version.
I just think numero uno will be much more comfy, and more than likely less trouble. (that is, I don't know if it has less trouble, but I just didn't like my BMS rambling apart, with it's complex plastics, and millions of screws.
It was a pain in the 8utt-hole, to just change the coolant fluid; I never going to buy a BMS TBX again, regardless of how cool they look!

I know for one thing, I'm not too fond of the brand 'Peak'.

I also noticed, for the past 2 days that the scoot is unusually hard to start! Perhaps because it's not 80 degrees, and the water may be affecting it's starting capabilities. Even the first 10 to 15 seconds, when the auto choke is on, the engine would stall. I presume it's water. Takes me a good 20 seconds of starting. The battery still has enough voltage level on it.

On my way to the library, I noticed the left blinker wasn't working, so I thought, how unusual for both of them to switch off at the same time! Neither was the dash LED working. The right blinkers where working fine.
The day before there was quite a few downpours, so I thought probably the water got into the circuit board.
While I was riding, in some mild rain, I noticed that the right blinkers also stopped working, both blinkers, and dash blinker lights gone.
Dash illumination, front and tail lights, and horn where still operational.
I presume it's the water, and think that perhaps when the thing dries up, both blinkers will work again; though I don't know for sure.
Anyone has any suggestions on what it could be?
Definitely not the fuse, because dash illumination,horn and head/tail light work. I have a headlight that's on even when the engine is off, so I'm not talking about the main headlight, but kind of like a tiny front light, to let me know I left the keys in the ignition, and contact on.

I've heard that with some performance variators, the belt goes more outward, requiring one to buy a belt that's a size longer, so it won't be pulled apart by the largest gearing of the variator, and limited by the rear pulley.. Don't know how much of that is true.
My stock 50cc can pull my scoot to almost 50MPH, and past that with some wind in the back. I suspect if he installs a BBK, that the engine has more power, and that the gearing should be changed, unless if he's in a hilly terrain. My 50cc can haul my 170LBS up a hill @30mph.

My 2ct: Considering the amount of debris that I find in my 50cc (mainly metal flakes, and black from exhaust gasses), I think it really doesn't matter if I go with the tiny bits better Mobil, or Valvoline (which is very good oil too), or a generic white label. (that being said, I do use Mobil on my 150cc scoot) Because the oil itself needs to be changed due to the debris inside of it, not because the oil itself is worn.

most of the time a gearing change could do the trick. some people would swear by getting a performance variator; but you'd have to make sure you get the right belt with that.

Just as long as you won't do anything wrong with the electrical components, aluminum foil will do the trick. It does allow a much higher current than a fuse, so you still have to change it out sometime. But at least in the mean time you can ride to autozone or something, to buy a new fuse.
