It's dark, my bike is down and I need my wife's scooter to get to work tomorrow. I put the battery in backwards and must have blown the fuse. It's a roketa 250. Where would I need to look for the blown fuse?

What is it doing? No lights? No horn? Does anything happen when you turn the key on?
Fuses can look good but be shot, do you have an ohm meter or a test light?

Follow the smaller RED WIRE coming off the POSITIVE BATTERY POST, you should find a FUSE and it is most likely a 15AMP fuse that is the main FUSE. IF that is blown YOU HAVE ZIP NADA SQUAT. Alleyoop

You can temporarily wrap the fuse in a layer of aluminum foil. Not the best solution, but good enough to make it work, until your new fuse arrives! I was hoping you'd say the scooter runs great riding @ 40 MPH backwards!

I was hoping you'd say the scooter runs great riding @ 40 MPH backwards! don't do this!!!!!! on the 250cc's they most likley are blade type fuses . if it is totally dead there is a fuse on the starter solinnoid , follow the large positive battery cable , it might look like this www.testedscooterparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=10565999John

I traced the wire then realized its the skinny wire with the round fuse. I wrapped it in tin foil. Started right up!!! Thanks guys!! Omg no... I hope you used 10-15 amp aluminum foil. Now if an overload occurs for whatever reason...you may just be buying yourself a new wiring harness. I have seen many older cars..motorcycles and scoots fry a wiring harness that way. Back in the 70's and before that(most of us old folks will remember this) House fuses were screwed in porcelain type....looked like the end of a light bulb. Anyway..many folks would put a penny behind the blown fuse as a 'temp' fix...then forget about it until their houses burned down. But now that we have breakers vice fuses...American intelligence has improved. What they do these days if the breaker keeps tripping...is drill a hole in the toggle of it..and use a long sheet metal screw to secure it in the 'On' position. But then the majority of them no longer have houses now...that unexplained fire burned it to the ground. Ok..use foil to fix a fuse is yet another bad tip given to a newbie. Yet my posts get negated by the very one who suggested it. Wonder if he is buying the new wiring harness should something happen. ..oh my..

I got 25 amp foil just to be safe lol. I'm far from a newbie. Just caught in a pinch while I'm waiting on a master link for my chain.

Just so you know you now have a lot of juice flowing through that wire and the higher you rev that sucker the more juice will flow. So do not be surprised if things start to blow on you. Alleyoop

You should only use a fuse rated for it . Too strong of a fuse will not blow out fast enough and may result in the wiring to get fried
