I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed that the 150cc scoots with EGR heads seem to be a bit slower then the one's with the non egr headed scooters?

EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. The head has an some extra plumbing on it.
My 150 Verona doesn't have the EGR system, I have a Buddy that has an almost identical bike, his has it, and it's a dog compared to mine. The MotoBrovo hornet I rebuilt, had an egr head, it too was a dog compared to mine. I was just wondering if it is the egr head is the difference.

If the EGR system is functioning properly I wouldn't think it would make really any difference. Its to prevent detonation when using lower octane fuels and clean up emissions a bit.

I'm just wondering because the two I've riden with the egr systems have both been dogs. The one's without it seem to be a bit more peppy.

yea they are not as powerful as the none EGR bikes as it is putting spent gasses back into the combustion just like all the cars from Detroit in the 70s when they automakers started putting that stuff on cars the power went down
