It's funny this topic has come up cause I'm begging to regret my choice of leather on my seat. It's so thick that it negates a lot of the original padding in my seat. It's more like a saddle than a comfy seat. I can ride for about an hour before my butt starts to feel some pain. Putting any of these squishy seat pads under the leather would be a waist.

Wile the covers they have might look a lil silly I think they could be dressed up. I'm thinking about eventually making a cover for a cover that I can put on during long rides. As long as you make a decent strap that wraps around the bottom of the seat, your weight on the seat should keep it from falling off.

They DO make a great, comfortable seat. It's called a Honda Goldwing.

scooter No doubt there are other softer leathers.. The leather I used for my seat is 12 ounce (leather thickness is measured in ounces) saddle leather.. I wanted that saddle look, and I wanted it to last. That seat will still be around long after I'm gone. I make bags out of some really nice 5-6 ounce oil tanned leather, that would be perfect for a seat covering. It's thick enough to be durable, and still thin enough that padding under it would be comfortable. It's being oil tanned also makes it resistant to water.

Your scoot looks like it has a comfortable seating arrangement. I am definitely thinking of adding padding to mine but I no longer have a sewing machine and I'm not sure I can afford to, or want to, pay an upholsterer to do it for me. I'm a little tall for my stepped down seat as well. I'd like to fill it up with foam and make the front almost as tall as the rear, if not as tall. The downside is that would put me even higher above my windshield. Everything is made for "average" sized people. I have even thought of buying some lexan and making a taller windshield for winter, but all of this stuff costs money and frankly I think I'll be upsizing to a larger scooter soon anyway.

Well here is a business opportunity for anyone living near Hollister CA , go talk to the people at Corbin .the first thing I did when I bought my 650 Burgman was ride from Canada there and had a seat built , in fact it was the first Burgman seat they had done , they did not have any of their base plates so we stripped my factory seat to use it's base . I spent 7 hours there getting it fitted to me . The style of seat was called a gun fighter , mostly single person but could hual someone in a pinch , whats nice about that style is it gives you a bit of a back rest .now on the foam they use a injection machine and carve it to fit the owner if they are there , the ones you get when you just order online are not custom fit but 100 times better than any factory seat , when I had my Gold Wing I just ordered one thru a dealer and it was good , back to the foam , a good seat is hard , not plush like your couch , you never saw John Wayne on a plush saddle did you ? I asked a Honda dealer one time why wing seats were soft and and not firm like a Corbin or Mustang aftermarket seat , he said to me that most people would not buy one as they think a soft seat is a comfortable seat , it not until they try a hard seat do they realize that a hard seat is way more comfortable , it has to do with no pressure points , so if you live near Hollister you could be running a resale business for others on scooter boards
