I'll see what I can do about getting it off tomorrow most likely. Shame since I was really looking forward to scooting down to the shore for 4th of July fireworks. It's going to be a real bummer to have to split that case though lol. I'm fairly certain I'm just delaying the inevitable.

No shiny metal in my oil keikara , I just recently changed my oil, gear oil and drive belt within the last 500km. If it is coming from anywhere in my CVT it's absolutely the variator area, which makes me scared for my crankshaft.

The noise persists whether I'm at idle or revving, but as the revs increase the noise becomes faster. No wobble in my crankshaft that I can discern. Unfortunately my impact is too weak to get the variator off for me to inspect. So while I wait for a better one or find a tool to remove it with, does anyone have any suggestions as to what this hellish noise could be? I'm hoping it's just a loose roller guide or worn roller (these are the stock variator and rollers after all and I'm at 6000km). I've had the cover off and nothing looks out of the ordinary. Scooter rides just fine, no problems in that department...but I am terrified it may just blow up or seize the rear wheel on me. It sounds loudest by the variator, but when I used the old screwdriver to the ear trick it sounded like it was coming from inside the starter motor. Does this make any sense? I'm so frustrated with this. Help!!

Hahaha hey this time I didn't do it! It just happened to get jarred in such a way while riding that they snapped right off. ...of course, I also hadn't given them a good tightening in a while... ..BUT STILL!

Bah, no such luck yet my friend. Stripped the screws on my carb trying to rejet for the pod filter and wound up not installing. I just finished replacing my cylinder head (busted studs flush with the head) and had no patience or willingness to deal with it at the time. :-p They are soft and easy to strip. I use an impact driver with a phillips tip. Works great, even on screws with partially stripped heads. Or do you mean the threads? You busted the head bolts too? Well, the head bolts snapped off flush about a week or so ago and I decided screw it I'll get a new cylinder head. While I was changing out the cylinder head I figured I would rejet the carb but just wound up stripping the phillips head of the screws and decided it's a project for another day. Positive was that the cap on my A/F screw was super easy to get out so I could tweak it, so that was a plus I guess. Just tapped it with a flathead and it slid right out of its position so I could pull it out with some needle noses. I'll give the impact driver a try the next time I have time to play with my carb and see if that works. Thanks for the tip!

Cool man, thanks jerseyboy . I'm just gonna pick up a pack of jets anyway now so I have something else to play around with. Probably just gonna grab that UNI while I'm at it too. This exhaust falling off has become a good thing for the tinkerer in me. just curious did you end up getting the uni? If so what size jet did you get to work? I just put on the same exhaust with a uni with a 115 but i didn't get a chance to tune it got dark out so I'll do it in the morning Bah, no such luck yet my friend. Awesome!! Sounds mean,,you really are going to need to upjet man,,it sounds a little lean now,,after the UNI forget it,,its going to be thirsty for fuel...lol..looks awesome man!! BTW-Is that a P&P,,I didn't see the stamp on it? I agree that it's definitely sounding a little lean. I'm holding off on installing the air filter until I get my jets just to play it safe. For now, do you reckon it's something I could remedy just by playing with the a/f screw (which I have yet to drill out access to)? This particular one has the P&P labeling on the swingarm facing side of the muffler rather than the outside, so it isn't really visible in the video.

Replacement exhaust arrived and fit like a charm. Just need to go grab some nuts and bolts to make the mounting bracket fit more snugly so I can get it done this weekend along with removing the air box and installing my pod filter. Video also posted in the original post with an update...for posterity. :-p

scootdude the new paint looks SICK man! I love the matte look. I'm still tossing around the idea of doing mine flat black with some glossy stripes and accents. Seeing yours makes me want to get it done even more.

Cool man, thanks jerseyboy . I'm just gonna pick up a pack of jets anyway now so I have something else to play around with. Probably just gonna grab that UNI while I'm at it too. This exhaust falling off has become a good thing for the tinkerer in me. Also,,had a question for you cap,, How do you like your JS4000 gopro clone? I was looking at those on ebay and they look sweet for the price,,your videos are really crisp too. I wanted one for doing some testing and riding videos when it warms up myself. Tom My SJ4000 has been nothing but awesome since I've had it. Now, two disadvantages over a GoPro: 1) It doesn't actually record in 1080p 60fps like it advertises. It's actually 1080p 30fps with each frame doubled. 2) No mic jack. There are hacks for this though. But if that's not a concern for you then disregard. There's a ton of settings and it's pretty easy to figure out what's going to work best for you to get good picture quality PLUS all of the GoPro mounts work interchangeably with this camera AND it comes with something like a dozen mounts in the box. There's a new version of this cam available but it's perpetually sold out called the SJCAM SJ5000+ Ambarella(might not be spelled correct). That one shoots actual 1080p 60fps and I believe has 720p 120fps for super smooth slow mo. Nearly double the price of the SJ4000 though, so you start to creep in to "might as well buy a GoPro or a Drift" territory. Look for a dude named Techmoan on YouTube, he has the most comprehensive review and feature overview of this thing that I've ever found. He's working on one for the SJ5000+ Ambarella too. Bottom line, I would recommend this cam any day of the week. PS: BEWARE OF FAKES!! There are TONS of FAKE SJ4000's on Ebay (which is ironic, because technically they're fakes of a fake...). If you want to get one direct from the main importer of these things you can get one here: www.foxoffer.com/sj4000-full-hd-waterproof-action-helmet-camera-p-659.html?zenid=9dbbe4486b4b8e72cd449186794b52ec

I'm assuming the issue is with the little plastic wrap around pieces that bolt the windshield to the support bars? If so, I replaced those with metal plumber's tape, haven't had a single issue. I did get lucky and got two plastic windshields which I mounted together giving me more strength, but I have also seen a couple of them around town with only the one piece of plastic, and they appeared to work fine. No it was actually the little pieces that get screwed in on the mirror threads. The little holes on each that the support bars go through horizontally (to adjust the verticality of the windshield itself) are off center so that the nuts that go on either side of it are actually forced up and under it. In essence, it's impossible to tighten up because there is nothing for the nuts to grab on to and keep it from moving. I'm going to make a video to send to Mo at Scrappy so that I can make good on their most recent offer to replace it all for free plus repay my return shipping costs. I'll post it here when I do. I'll keep this updated as the situation progresses. Maybe there can be a happy ending after all.
