That's really what it comes down to for me too. I don't like when a business is so unwilling to maybe take the hit on their end for something that is absolutely of no fault of the customer and then turn around and question the customer like they're trying to get over on the business.
I deal with cranky customers in my line of work and sometimes as a business we have to make the decision to take a hit to make a customer feel comfortable shopping our website again and like we care because we do.
If it weren't for the way the CS rep I dealt put the problem on me, I probably would shop Scrappy again anyway, even after this..But now why would I do business with a company that isn't willing to make me a satisfied customer when things go wrong?

Its unfortunate because they run ads here and I like to support the people that support the board, but I absolutely HATE bad customer service.

How many pieces of acrylic did you get? I got two pieces, and mounted both. Together they hold up fine to the wind, individually I can't imagine they would. I do not know if I was supposed to get two pieces of plastic or not, may have been an accident when they pulled the parts. I cruise at 40-45 with some flex to the windshield, but not enough to be an issue. One thing you can try to do is rotate the mounting brackets, and screw the mounting bolts into the brackets in a way that creates as much of a bend as possible in the acrylic. The more bend, the more stability. BTW- If the plastic mounting pieces that wrap around the poles and screw to the windshield break, use plumbers tape to replace them. Heck, replace them before they break with plumbers tape and you'll have more positioning options available. I had a single piece of acrylic. There was nothing that could be done with this. The problem is that the nuts actually can slip under the fold in the mirror mounts and then instead of tightening and holding the system in place and upright all it does is push the metal out and unbend it rendering everything useless. I tried to solve it with some JB Weld to even it out but it's just not strong enough.

Right now I'm kind of furious with Scrappydog Scooters over this windshield issue.
First of all, it took 11 days and a secondary attempt at contacting their customer service for any kind of reply. The reply I received after explaining my issue was somewhat condescending, droned on about the positive reviews and track record of the product, and implied that I was an idiot incapable of following directions and tightening bolts and that it must be my fault. It then went on to explain that there was no way they could send out replacement mirror mounts and that the only solution is to box the whole thing up, eat the shipping cost, and send it back for a refund.
I find it absolutely ABSURD that there wouldn't be spare parts for such a product in case of a manufacturers error like I experienced. For this reason I will never recommend this product to anyone. I'm sorry guys, I know a lot of you have had it work like a charm, but I do not like being treated like I'm stupid or a liar...especially when my money went out the window on a jacked up kit.

I gotta tell you, I really love the sound of my open header too lol. It's a shame it's so bad for an engine! You'd swear these things are some kind of chopper coming down the block if you didn't see it.

Hey, while I've got some eyes on this thread too...
You guys know those nice little metal brackets/mounts/don't-know-the-term-for-it-things that fit on to the swingarm for mounting the metal and rubber muffler hanger straps? They're usually chromed or some kind of shiny metal. Any idea where I could find one because I have had zero luck unless it's bundled with a system. Having one would have saved my pipe tonight.
EDIT: Scratch that, I actually found the P&P exhaust you referenced. I'll wait to hear back from Geh but if it's easy like that I'll definitely pick one of those up for myself.

Oh nice. Thanks for that jerseyboy. I'll send him a PM and see what he can tell me then. I swear I don't know what I'd do without this board sometimes lol. Y'all have saved me so much time and frustration before and during my ownership it's unbelievable.

Thanks for checking in Alley. Is it typically that they just stick out off of the side too far that is the issue, or that the pipe is touching something? This is really my first foray into this sort of thing so I don't have any experience or knowledge whatsoever regarding fitment of aftermarket exhausts.
I ran it about a mile without the header ~15mph. It broke off right at the header and left the part that bolts on intact, so I only had about 1/2 to 1 inch of pipe on it. I hope to have not done any damage to my valves but I'm not going to be able to check on all of that til the morning at the earliest. It sucks that it's so cold because I'm terrified of the cool air causing something to crack inside. My inside storage is unavailable right now. A nice warmish weekend is coming up that would've been perfect to ride in here in Jersey too. Worst. Timing. Ever.

So my exhaust fell off again on my TaoTao Powermax 150. ...except this time it quite literally FELL OFF. Brackets, pipe, muffler, the whole shebang - broke off at the header right in the middle of the street. At least my studs didn't snap. I think I'm just going to go ahead and bite the bullet and buy a "performance exhaust" from Ebay to tide me over until I can maybe have my metalworker friend fabricate me something. Can anyone suggest one that fits without modification? EDIT 2/12/2015: The answer is the standard P&P Performance Exhaust that can be found on Ebay! Thanks to everyone who chimed in to help out, wouldn't have been okay with getting it without your input. I just need to pick up some hardware to make the fit of the bracket and hanger a little nicer this weekend.

I know a few of you guys also have the windshield from Scrappy.
So, I installed mine yesterday and went to go for a test ride today since it's a solid 15 degrees warmer. However, all it does it blow over into my face. I'm not talking 50mph either here, just 15-20 will do it. It seems as though one of my mounting brackets that attaches to the mirror is crooked as all and is preventing the nuts on either side from grabbing it completely.
Anyone else have this issue or one like it? How did you fix it? I e-mailed them about getting some new brackets maybe, but I'd still like to be able to make use of it before I would get them.

I finally installed a windshield from Scrappy today. Hopefully will help to make my cold weather riding a bit more pleasant! I totally want to see your dog riding it with a tiny helmet on. That would be some good YouTube material I think. Aw man I hope so. Maybe I can find some kind of harness for my belly for her, I already found some goggles. :-p
