Riding up the road, I noticed my scooter got very loud. I stopped in my friends drive-way to check it out. Felt air from my exhaust leaking from where the head brace used to be. I previously cut it off due to it not fitting... Some how it vibrated completely off while i was riding leaving a hole in my muffler head. already tried jb weld, didn't quite work out like i planed. Any ideas at all would be helpful. Would high temp jb weld epoxy work good? Can I just get some hvac tape and go crazy? Looking for a way around welding a piece of metal over it... OEM mufflers can be cheap, around $20 or so, cheaper than getting the thing welded, the problem would be finding it if you don't have a parts store around.

What is this sorcery?! I had no idea about this stuff. I'm going to buy some for the tool box right now.

VersaChem® Exhaust System Joint Sealer.
Search for that. I got at autozone for around $7, came with little screens to help with repair. I used to fill and cap off the egr port on my header pipe, due to the egr falling off one day while riding lol. have no problems with it and was done about 2 months ago. I ride most weeks 5 days 10 miles a day, back and forth to work.

That tape stuff doesn't last. Been there done that. You could try Brazing. It's halfway between soldering and welding. You can buy brazing rods at Home Dept or Lowes and all you need is a MapGas Torch. The secret to using MapGas is limiting the heat loss of the component while heating it. Sometimes all you need to do is wrap the item with Aluminum Foil a few inches back from where you're brazing. Or if the metal is too thick and you need more heat.... www.homedepot.com/p/Bernzomatic-OX2550KC-Oxy-Map-Pro-Torch-Kit-331673/203391033
