Rattling inside the muffler a baffle broke off, cheap mufflers. And at any time it may block the some outlet depends where it is at, but you will notice the difference sound a muffled sound. Alleyoop

A lot of these stock mufflers are junk with a fake case around a very cheap muffler . Even the headers are junk . Many headers begin to rattle after a yr or two .

So I'm thinking of just getting a whole new ignition coil instead of just replacing the boot. Have seen others go with performance ones...is it worth the upgrade by itself or would I need to upgrade other things with it to make it worthwhile? Just picked up the scoot a year ago. Aside from upgrading to 11-pole and replacing all the wiring, it's stock.

I have the orange coil and notice little to no difference, the wire that came with it the first time failed and has barely any wire in it. The boot sucked and was of cheap quality and started giving me problems so I went back to stock. Got the NGK boot and noticed a stronger spark.. Just my experience though

Just my experience though Ithink ur talking about the cheaper orange coil from eBay . I have the same one , the boot was junk so I replaced it with a stock boot . And I never have had any problems . Mine came with the blue " racing " cdi . I've also never had any problems with it .

I used the Scrappy Orange Coil and matching DC CDI and got better starts especially in cooler weather with a few more mpg on my Lance Vintage along with a more solid 65 mph. The clamp in the spark plug boot was so tough that it removed the threads from the spark plugs tower connector due to the belt vibration I had from grooved up variator drive faces.

So I am putting in the new coil, CDI, and plug...and this vent hose popped off from somewhere. I have spent far too much time trying to figure out where the heck it goes. It has a clamp on it, so it was somewhere.
Help? Wanna take the scoot to see some fireworks tonight.

It connects to a little plastic valve-looking think that is right behind the CDI. A second black hose leads back from that valve to (what I think) is the top of the fuel tank. I didn't take the back plastic off to verify but pretty sure.

A tube comes off the top of the gas tank into this valve? A second tube comes from the valve to...somewhere where it was clamped.

Finally found it...buried underneath the starter valve. It was a super pain to get back in and clamped...no clearance from frame. But the scoot fired up and the short test run was solid. Once the JB weld on the broken mirror mount is solid and I can get the mirrors on, it's time for a cruise. Thanks to all for the help.
Just out of curiosity, anyone know what the plastic piece is in my previous post? I couldn't find a name for it anywhere. Not sure if it is because my bike is a 2007 and doesn't have any of the newer emissions crap.
Any time someone who helped is at Miller Park...free beer on me.
