Posted on other board.. Gonna try here as well. All of a sudden, I have no blinkers, headlight (low beam), horn and dash lights.. I have checked ALL fuses and replaced the fuses.. Not sure what wires to check. I have a tester with a bulb that I can test the wires Its just im not sure what ones to check out and test.
This is a 2008 CF moto Fashion..

howdy, i'll respond so you know people are reading it. to me it sounds like that combination of things would indicate the light system doesn't think the key is on or thinks the starter is engaged. something in that automatic on light system.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Did you check for voltage to ground at the fuses? Can you dl a schematic? Sounds like a dc supply problem somehow. Is your battery staying up?

Problem is not sure what to check... these wires are all in there pretty tight... I can tell you that the black wire that runs from the ignition where I put the key in... in that connector when the key is on there is no juice.. Its only juice when the key is off... in this picture the one with the big black arrow does not light the tester when the key is turned on.. only when its off..

Stepthrutuner, here is the diagram in full PDF. I've got all the diagrams on the Motos and this fellow has asked for help there for some time now and there are several reasons he could have his problems. We'll help him get it fixed now. Also there are two versions of this scooter as far as the diagrams. www.jr-richscooterdoc.com/WD_Cfmoto_Fashion_diagram.pdfJR

I realized that there could be other causes and that's why I said the shorted reg. could be a condition. It very well could be a bad switch or lamp/socket somewhere as well as other faults too.

Nope this is an ongoing battle.. its like personal now.. But I heard JR Is the man to talk to about electrical. This is a CRAZY situation. . I have a video that I will post when I get home from work tonight. Just so you can see what the heck is going on.. In short.. When the key is on I have NO blinkers, horn, low beam headlight (the big bulb), no dash lights except the odemeter... Without starting it.. when I push the start button.. everything lights up on the dash.. each time I push the start button... Now here is the crazy thing... When I shut off the key literally take it out.. There still is power.. the headlight NOW comes on.. the little bulb goes off, if I press the horn, the speedodemeter goes crazy up and down.. The blinkers will dim and light the odemeter.. I actually have to disconnect the battery to shut everything down.. So that is my story and im sticking too it.. CRAZY right?? Been going on for 2 months and can't ride the thing with no blinkers or a head light

Unplug your rectifier/regulator and see what happens to your symptoms. The r/r is an alternate path to the battery besides the key switch. The rectifiers there could leak enough to cause your symptoms yet still function sufficiently to charge your battery.

It should be about 5" long x 3 1/2" wide x 2" tall and have fins across the top. Some have a connector on the body itself and some have one or two groups of wires coming out of them.

Good morning justguy1. I've read all the material and threads about your problem and it seems you have a weird problem for sure. I even put up a thread on my forum hoping you would notice so we could help you there but since you've joined here we'll jump in here and see if we can get you going. www.thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=250classchinese&action=display&thread=2764Now I'm going to ask you some questions so I can try to get a better picture of your scooter instead of trying to piece together all the stuff on other threads on other forums and trying to remember it all. First of all is when you got this scooter did it run ok without these issues or did you get it with these troubles? If it was fine when you got it did this happen all of a sudden like going down the road or you just got on one day and found all these problems? I also noticed from previous threads and such that it appears you have installed a battery main disconnect switch to stop the battery draw from the alarm system to keep the battery from discharging when sitting for longer periods of time? Were you having these problems before or after the switch install and from what terminals did you run this switch too? I would hope that you removed the positive battery cable from the battery, hooked it to the disconnect switch, then ran another wire from the switch to the positive post on the battery? Now I looked at the picture of the plug on your ignition switch and after you answer these questions we'll go from there and I'll ask you to do some tests to see if we can isolate your trouble and go from there. JR

JR..
OK where do I start... First It was not like this when I got it.. And Yes it happened all of a sudden. Was driving home from work and they were out. Crazy thing is they have come back on twice since they have been out, then went out again, now out for good..
They happened AFTER I put in the battery disconnect. The way the battery disconnect is I ran the wire from the -- connector to the disconnect then a piece of battery wire I had and ran that from the disconnect to the --- terminal on the battery. I did disconnect the whole battery when doing this. I have taken it apart as well and connected it normal and it was still doing the same thing.. But If I remember correctly when I did that.. The + was still connected to the battery... If im not mistaken I got this from Bashan (i think you know who he is) on another site.. And it was connected to the --- side I hope.. I hope I didn't mess anything up..
