For some reason every time I ride scoot without gloves my hands have a really stinky rubbery smell to them.
The gloves when used stink as well after that, is there a way to get that smell off the grips.
anyone else have this prob?
Peace

I know that smell, and it stays around forever. Replaced my grips with better quality British made stuff.

Wash em . I hated the grips on my Magnum and bought some soft foam ones from www.cyclegear.com for 7 bucks . They do have a much nicer set for 20

I love that smell of rubber! it will go away though it'll take a while. I don't know if there are any chemical products that could help (you can try pet or smoke odor remover, see if it helps).
Other than that, just keep on riding with good gloves (leather, or even cloth gloves should not let any smell come through).

But seriously the grips on there are very cheap if they smell from rubber, just get some good grips and remove those. Alleyoop

The one on my TaoTao smelled like rubber too. After 2 weeks not anymore. I let it stand outside, in the sun and the rain. I'm sure that has something to do with removing the smell.

hody, i just put a cheap foam set on the scoot and that helped keep my grip from slipping and softened the vibration as well as eliminating the smell which was really noticeable when picking my nose---- ---the devil made me say that---- lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

The smell should go away over time however get a good set of gloves as your hands will take a real beating if left unprotected and you fall. The Sedici brand from Cycle Gear can be had for about $25 when on sale and are guaranteed for life.

In the summer they can get sticky and stinky . Wash with hot water and mild detergent .
My grips slide right off so no cutting like I thought I would have to . I bought a tube of grip glue for 3 bucks . The soft all foam grips are great for 7 bucks and should last a while but will wear out over time . I will get the others next time when they are worn

The foam breathes so my hands do not get sticky in the summer
