Yeah my stock face is 115mm.I dont really care too much about my top speed because I like to cruise around 40-45 MPH so that is the area I'm trying to improve,,if I could bring my cruising speed up to 50MPH that would be sweet,,I think 7K is a little high to be cruising around at for hours but I might be wrong,,these little GY6 motors do seam to be indestructible so far..
The belt is a new Gates Powerlink but it said Made in China on it,,and I know the smell of chinese rubber,,it works great,,nice and smooth but the rpm changed a little,,might actually be because I cleaned everything then put some light grease on that bushing,,maybe its sliding out slower now and staying in a lower gear longer because of the grease?
Hey John I will PM you when Im ready..thanks for the reply brother.. Tom

How's the rpms at top speed ? Higher or lower then before ? Its lower after the clutch fully engages and the variator is to the top gear,,that happens at around 50 MPH before it happened around 48 MPH.It was pulling pretty hard at 50-53 MPH taching around 7k but I never got a chance to get it to top speed,,I will check tomorrow. I like to cruise around at 45 MPH and tach about 5700,,but now its taching 6k,,Im sure its not a big deal,,I just like to keep my R's down some,,I know you guys always say 7K is the sweet spot,,if I cruised around at 7K I would be cruising 55 mph..lol

That would be tough . Ur prob gonna have to tear it apart . I doubt anyone really knows for sure unless they have measured it with different size gears . Yeah thats what I was thinking too,, I got a gasket kit on the way so maybe I will tear into it one of these rainy days...

NP bro,,that video will rule out pretty much all the electronics except the RR,,but that's easy to test and not your problem I'm sure of that much..lol
Alley mentioned the spark plug cap not on well,,I was thinking something to do with the spark plug, coil or wire also,,Ive had small engines act like they had a fuel problem and would not take gas or run right,,but all along it was a spark issue,,as soon as the motor went under a small load it would quit from high resistance somewhere in the ignition system..weak connection or broken wire..

Is there anyway to tell what gears I have in my gear box by counting how many times the bell spins around before the wheel spins one complete rotation? I would like to know so I can order one size taller without ripping it apart or being without my scooter for a few days to a week or so.. I have 13" wheels... Thanks dewds!! Tom

I had an 835-20-30 on my scoot from factory and it did not go all the way to the top of my variator face when WOT top speed,,it was like 1\2"lower. My face is 115mm stock.I put a 842-20-30 on today and now it rides to the top,,the top end speed increased a few MPH BUT I noticed my RPM at cruising speed 40-45 MPH is a little higher now,,why would that be,,just because the belt is longer???It doesn't make sense to me,,I'm going to try 14g sliders to see if it brings it back down some...any thoughts?

It doesn't sound too bad when its running,,as many times as you cranked it to start I'm still thinking air/fuel issue, air leak.Too bad you don't have another carb to try on there...also here is the video to check some of your electronics values,,its for 150 but they are very similar if not the same,,just too rule some stuff out bro..I think you are doing very good so far,,this scooter is just being a bear,,and its prolly a simple fix,,just hard to pinpoint...

I heard one that was from ebay,,it was a cheap one and it was a little louder than stock,,I guess you could buy a P&P or cheap ebay pipe and drill out the rivets then make the holes on the baffle bigger so more of the sound/exhaust goes into the glass packing...could even pack it with looser glass,,but bigger holes for the exhaust to move into the glass is all I can think of for now...mines only loud and crackles when I open it up,,when I cruise its got a nice deep throaty sound for a small 150...there really is no way to make a straight free flowing pipe real quiet other than that..

Yeah,, PFS.COM even has a liquid cooled GY6 150 motor for a couple hundred more than his air cooled,,the air cooled 150 is just over $400,,but I guess you pay for the QC. Walter,,make sure to let us know when you are up and running man!!

When I spin my motor around with NO plug it naturally settles in the correct spot to set the valves,,almost like it relaxes there..I don't even look at any timing marks on fly wheel,,just the cam holes,,just do it like Alley says,,the screwdriver is also a good idea if your not sure,,you can feel it when its perfect TDC.

I see this company on ebay,, They even show a picture and say""The only way you know if you bought a 150 is to measure the piston 57mm"" I saw another guy with 99.8% feedback and he sold over 30 of them,,guess I would go with him instead...stinks to hear stuff like this...

Yeah,, If your going to do alot of rain riding you have to really make sure you give the wire harness,plugs,coil,cdi,ect.... alot of attention with these chinese scoots.Good quality shrink tubing and some clear silicone sealer goes a long way...
