Sputtering is to MUCH FUEL. So set it like this at first: Turn the fuel ratio mixture clockwise UNTIL it stops THEN turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE 2 1/2 turns and try that setting; Now remember when and if it acts up starts to bog or sputter BACK OFF THE THROTTLE 1/4 of an INCH and HOLD IT THERE. Pay attention to what the motor does: 1. If it speeds up it is LEANS NEEDS a little more fuel. 2. If it Sputters and or just settles down it is RICH to much fuel. Alleyoop Good news. After I put on the electric pump, the scooter was running better but had a top speed of 55 or so. On the way home yesterday it starting running very poorly. I put another intake tube on it, from the air box to the carb, and zoom! I got 69 MPH today. It felt good to finally get a little speed out of this thing! Now I know the true power of "The Dark Side!" Awesome!! 69MPH,,us 150's are going to be right on your tail...and maybe get you in the corners..

When you get your parts especially BBK stuff,,you really should have a digital caliper at least and measure everything,,then take a close look at the casting,piston,rings...you will be able to tell if its quality just by how nice they machined things.
My kit was claimed to be made in Taiwan,,by the way it looked it was very good quality,,much better than the OEM stuff i removed. The BBK reminded me of the Japanese parts i was getting for Honda,,the piston much resembled a quality hi performance Wisco.
Unique Scooter formerly Scooter Elements(Walter) is a great seller also..he wont settle for Chinese knock offs..you just have to be careful before you buy cause even gy6racingteam has been known to sell Chinese knock offs of certain items like the Two Bros. pipes..if you look close and pay attention to the packaging they use you will see the difference.

...Taotao sent me two new ones for free,,they look a little better but I probably wont use them. That's impressive. I didn't know TaoTao had a service department that took care of things like this after the sale. Well I bought it from Family Go Carts and when i called them they told me the manufacturer would cover everything on the scooter for the first days I believe it was..the customer service was very good,,here is the site they directed me too,,I had to choose the parts I needed then they shipped them right over...they are a little more pricey than most places but they have all the panels, tanks, frame parts,,all the hard to find stuff is all right here..I wouldn't buy from them unless I really needed a panel or something. www.eagleatvparts.com/index.php

Front tire is deformed, I guess I need a new tire How many miles can a tire last on a typical application? I still have the factory tires, the scoot has now 3100 miles on the odometer. You can get 10k miles out of a good tire like a Kenda or Michelin,,the Chinese tires I got with mine where out of round and had a high spot,,so I got rid of both...they where really bad quality.Taotao sent me two new ones for free,,they look a little better but I probably wont use them.

I use a pair of ski gloves,,they are a little bulky but do the trick for sure...they keep me warm at 50 mph on skis so figure they would work at 50 on the scoot

Yes they do Geh!!! Loose mount bolts will cause havock too,,Geh is right,it will make you off track and push/pull in every direction. Hey Demartin95,,I have the HF tire changer but I dont have the MC adapter,,do you have that and if so how does it work for scooter tires?
Thanks

He can just put a zip tie(as a gauge) around his fork tube and trim it so it just touches the rim barely,,then spin the wheel and watch to see if the wheel moves away or rubs the tie more,,this is how I trued spoked rims before I got a truing stand,,works very well..and you cant get any cheaper than a zip tie...lol

I think it might be your tires,,also could be loose headset bearings,,make sure they are tight.
We have a steel grate bridge here in town,,you really better hold on when going across that sucker,,it flips me all over the place.Your frame wont be bent unless you hit something hard and or have a crack in the welds,,check all that,,also make sure the rear wheel tracks exactly behind the front wheel,,an easy way to find out is to wet the tires then roll it in a straight line,,if its running dog legged you will see the rear tire track off to one side..could be a bushing or frame/headset issue then.
How much pressure you running in those tires?,,I run 22 PSI front and back,,ride is a little hard but thats fine I like to roll.

I think I will be ordering a brand new BBK soon to just start fresh. I went for a 45 min ride last night, used up 75% of my oil (was full) and melted the end of the spark plug! Yeah,, If you keep riding it like that you are going to waste the crank sooner or later,,the case should always be full of oil at all time,,especially when its so hot the plug melts because your oil level was so low....your head/valve tran is going to be so carbon'ed up its not even going to be funny too. Good thing parts are cheap for these..huh

PCV pipe cement works fantastic on the plasctics: Alleyoop Yes it does,,it melts the plastics together and makes it as if it where one piece.

Dump some Lucas fuel injector cleaner in there once in a while,,that stuff is amazing..had high emissions like 150 points high on my old truck a few years ago,,then I ran a bottle of that Lucas to about 1\4 tank of premium fuel,,I passed by 25 points man,I swear by that Lucas,I use it in all my motors and it really helps. I think its part rocket fuel..lol
