Yup,, I noticed even 99% of the free flow designs are restricted in the first few inches from the head,,i dont know why they do that?? I will have somebody build me a 1-1/4" header sooner or later,,thats really the best way,,then you can utilize any silencer you want like a Supertrapp,DG,Two Bro's,or Yosh...thats what I would do... My silencer if you want to call it that is only LOUD when Im hard on the fuel,,when I cruise it just thumps away,,but if I am going up a hill its pretty loud also..I like it cause when I pull up along side a Harley they look at me like,,what the heck is this thing with a funny smirk on their face,,its funny watching their face change when I pull away on them out of the hole...lmao!!!! Not bad for a little 150...huh..lol Most of the free flow pipes I see are pretty much a straight pipe with a drilled baffle,,the baffle is the same size as the head pipe but its got hundreds of holes drilled in it,,then they pack fiberglass around the outside of the baffle inside the silencer can to help absorb SOME of the noise, they work well.Same principal as an old skool glass pack or cherry bomb for muscle car. The small restriction in the header has to do with pressure. It makes the exhaust expand just after the restriction and creates higher exhaust gas velocity in the restricted area. I think it is supposed to suck more air/fuel in when the intake valve opens or something like that and/or creates back pressure. Well thats good to know scooter,, Kinda like the same principle as the expansion chamber on a two stroke..only way too find out if it increases performance is to test against a header thats the same size all the way through...wish I had lots of $$ and time..lol..I have neither.

Well he is in Costa Rica so I bet its in + degree temps almost everyday. That might be one of the reasons they are degrading sooner than usual. Is not that hot in San Jose, I live up the mountain, this time of the year it is very chilly Dewd we have 10% ethanol in our fuel and it has been killing the lines every other year,,I also cut grass for a living and I have a spool of fuel line for all my weed wacker and blowers,,they all need to be changed at least once every two seasons,,i remember when fuel lines would last 10 years on stuff,,not anymore man! Try out the stuff I showed you,,I think it will last a bit longer...I have the high pressure fuel line on my mower now for over 4 years and its still in pretty good shape,,Im going to change it out this Winter because the inside might be deteriorating and i cant see it,,but its still pretty soft and has not swelled up or cracked yet,,that mower is out in the hot sun 8 hours a day. I change the lines on everything around here every couple years man,,the corn fuel $ucks!!!! Tom

I built this one out of an old regulator my dad had laying around,,you will need the HF compression tester for the quick connect too spark plug hole,,but other than that its easy and will be a great tool in diagnosing problems.

I had my stock one here for so long but then I scrapped it..its hard to find a performance pipe that is not restricted in the first few inched by the head from what I see.I dont see why most of them even did that,,what is the sense,,too make it fit better??

I got P&P stainless 1" exhaust,,beautiful quality and it sounds amazing,,nice throaty crackle, think I paid like $150 for it,,not sure if they still have them on ebay,,I will look for ya! Mine looks just like this one,,I love this pipe,,but I am going to try the same pipe Geh has next time..his sounds mean! Dont know why they post it as steel,,mine is stainless for sure and this one looks like it too.. www.ebay.com/itm/Gy6-Scooter-P-P-HP-Performance-Steel-Exhaust-125cc-150cc-/180580874810?hash=item2a0b757a3a&vxp=mtr This one is really nice too,,more $$ but its not pinched off in the front like most of the others,,Its 1" all the way through! www.ebay.com/itm/SCOOTER-150CC-GY6-RACING-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-NCY-ROUND-EXHAUST/191461571957?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D28795%26meid%3D5cdfd0dd5b4248349276d5e0b9a8ee9e%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D171620693259&rt=nc Here is another really nicely built one IMO. www.ebay.com/itm/SCOOTER-125CC-150CC-GY6-RACING-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-CARBON-FIBER-EXHAUST-TYPE-2/191464940294?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D28795%26meid%3D786e39741ddd446399a95710bcc04c65%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D191461571957&rt=ncYou know what Geh,, What is the ID of a stock header? If its 1" then the performance pipes are more like 1-1/4",,I thought they where smaller than 1",,but I don't have one here to measure?? I will measure mine as soon as my 8mm NCY studs get here,,I know my pipe is smaller the first few inches then it gets bigger,,not a big fan of that idea,,I want to find one big all the way back from front..so it matches my bigger exhaust port. The exhaust is nowhere close to the fuel line on my 150,,the line has a straight shot from the tank to the carb inlet,,it may get some heat from being over top of the block/CVT area,,if your really worried about heat you can get that braided fuel line cover for the lines at any auto store,,it will dress up the scooter and protect the lines from heat. If you get a quality line you should have no problems with heat,,Ive seen fuel quality line up against a head for years with no problems..but I don't recommend it:) Make sure it has a nice clean run from tank to carb,,only use as much as it takes to get from point A to B with maybe an inch or two of slack for engine hanger/frame/suspension movement. Maybe you can show us some pics as too how you have the line ran and how it looks when its burnt,,curious minds want to know? Thanks Tom Is not exactly burned, they get stiff and break Oh,,try the yellow tube I showed you,,that stuff stays soft for a long time,,its a little pricey but worth it

ricardo, that duck hauler is SCARY! psych, good to know about the title law. KS, you can title if you want, there's benefits both ways I guess. And I still think see what the shelter's likely buying clientele will be, and aim for that. Me, I wouldn't go the duck hauler extreme, but I still like outfitting it with all sorts of baskets/ hauling places. >'Kat Hes really got all those ducks on there too Kat,,you see how those tires are all mushed down to the road,,that is scary

Mechanical failure's are rare on chinese scooters especially the GY6 clone,,as long as you do all the proper maintenance PDI stuff and don't beat the living pi$$ out of the motor by riding WOT 7K+RPM all day long everyday you will be fine.
Most important is keeping good clean oil in the crankcase, and on the 250 good antifreeze in the radiator as well. I also noticed on the CVT the variator/rollers/bushing(light coat of grease on clean bushing) ect.. likes to be cleaned and the clutch needle bearings greased every few thousand miles, along with a fresh belt just for piece of mind,,throw your old belt under the seat along with an extra CDI,coil, and plug.
I had to swap out CDI once on the road,,I lost all spark 15 miles from home,,put the stock CDI in and bingo I was rolling again,,guess I got a lemon Progress Racing CDI cause the new one they sent me has gone a long way since. The first one only went 25 miles before it failed.
So far with 4.1K km on my scoot I had the right brake switch go bad, headlight hi/low switch went bad,the fuel sensor crumbled in my tank, and a few minor cracks developed in the plastics on front fender and side cover,,but other than that it never let me down.
A small tool kit with a piece of fuel line, some zip ties, and some nuts and bolts cant be a bad idea either IMO.
Scoot on my friend!!

If you have a little rust in the tank,,they make a great tank liner kit that works very good! I used it before and it seals up pin holes too,,really good stuff,,think Harley uses it in all their bikes at factory for preventative measures.

If it cuts out with throttle wide open then comes back to life if you roll off the throttle a little I think you need to up jet a size or two...maybe
Starving for fuel,,could be a restriction in the fuel delivery dept. also..
