That's awesome you removed all that crap. Your scooter would thank you if it could. Trying to reduce pollution is one thing. But restricting an engine with poorly designed and manufactured parts is another. Couldnt agree with you more joey!! The pollution control parts they use on these GY6's is utter garbage,,does nothing but choke the life out of them and make them run hotter,,the chinese do it because they have to,,at least they make it easy for us to take off and plug all up.

Oh yeah!! The motor will run more efficient now,,its good to keep a motor sealed other than a breather,,most race motors I ever saw only have a breather nothing else..its alot more reliable now too, cause you wont have all those lines that will eventually leak and need to be replaced.
Good job!!!

Awesome guys! Glad this thread is doing so well.. Today I plugged my ACV valve and now I don't have anymore vacuum lines to deal with,,its really awesome to look down into the engine compartment and only see a fuel line and breather,,runs like a champ no popping on decel,,just normal bratting..

$18,,man you almost could drive all Winter long for $18 of fuel..lol..I know I could.
The toll on the George Washington Bridge in NYC is like $80 for tractor trailers,,not sure what it is for cars I think its like $15 or so,,just to cross the Hudson.

I would get some new valve seals for it too since you have it apart...cant hurt and they are cheap. Gonna need a head gasket, and a new exhaust gasket too.The valve cover gasket can be used again,,just clean it up good and use a thin layer of RTV or shellac.

Its safe to block ALL your vacuum lines bro,,you don't need any of them..unless your running a vacuum fuel pump or still have your ACV valve hooked up on your carb...Im going to disable my ACV valve and see how the scooter runs,,might get some popping on hard decels but thats the nature of the beast...

Yeah Jerry,, I was used to a Honda 1800 VTX cruiser,,then i went to a 500 shadow,,that thing was like a toy out there on the highway,,gettin blown all over the place by the big trucks..remember Im in Jersey and if you know anything about RT78 or the NJ Turnpike you would understand.
I will just stick to my county roads and back roads for now with my little ghetto blaster,,you can have that highway riding,,i find it boring and it really beats you up after a couple hundred miles.I look at the map before going on a long trip,,then I map out a nice ride avoiding any freeways,,even if its 25 miles longer its worth it for the scenery and more peaceful atmosphere.

Yeah the stub for your foot is on the left side yup,, After removing your center stand scootdude,,just be careful when starting it up while cold,,sometimes the rear wheel will spin some because of the higher RPM from the enricher,,so just be careful not to walk away until the idle stabilizes.

I don't think they are any different than other Linhai type 250's,,do the basic maintenance, upgrades, and don't ride it WOT everywhere you go,,it should last 20-50K miles no problem. Then just rebuild the motor and go another 50K.
For highway I would stay around 60-65 MPH.If you want to do 75-80 you better get a 750..IMO a 250 is still on the small side for interstate use.I was struggling with my Honda 500 at times...but as long as you stay in the right lane you should be fine,,just watch out for the big trucks!

and, BTW, you can see plainly why I want to get rid of it. I'd like ALL of that spaghetti hose to go away that is blocking the valve cover and spark plug. All of it. Yeah,,mine was really bad when I first got it too,,now I replaced the valve cover and head with non EGR,,its nice to look in there and only see the breather and one vac line, makes it alot easier to work on if something goes wrong.

My tires are all correct size and I'm not really leaning into a corner that hard and it still scrapes,,my shocks are set pretty firm as well..it scrapes really easy if I lean left but it will scrape if I lean right hard...people get a kick out of the sparks at night. Not me

I think Geh put some bigger tires on his also,,he had to modify the front fender so it would fit,,my center stand hits all the time when cornering,,its a little nerve racking to say the least,,was thinking to just remove the darn thing and just put it back on if I was working on or taking the motor out of it.
