I have an mile round trip to work. The only reason I don't ride to work is precip or I have to haul something in like a computer tower (laptops fit in the SYM Citycom!). I've rode as low as 17 degrees. I'm fixing to get on the bike right now and it's 27 outside. I was reading your post and thinking,,wow miles on a china scoot,,thats awesome!! But then I saw SYM...lol

Yup,,plus the drag of the rear wheel will help keep you more stabil especially in a turn by keeping so much force off the front and headset bearings that will tend to start wobbling and can wash out if not careful.
Did you ever watch superbike riders,,how they slide into corners using both brakes but mostly the rear...

I always grab both evenly,,you dont want to grab the front too hard all the time,,will wear out the front tire faster and could slip easier,,let the rear drag and do its job,,safer and easier on parts in the long run....

Yup,,A good driver,,hold it firm and while you hit it with a small hammer turn CCW at the same time...
I changed mine with synthetic and the lever is so firm,,you just touch it with a pinky and it stops....they really need to be bled and changed from factory ASAP...good job!

For him to get the most out of his scoot , he should get a different variator . I'll let him know how the koso from john turns out. After that he needs to get the clutch in order . I offered him my old ncy 2000 main . it may give him that little extra on takeoff and mid without any top end suffering. It actually seemed to help my top end slightly. It will be nice to see his scoot running tip top . Think maybe you missed the sarcasm. Or I'm just getting cynical. Anyway.... Pissed. The Dr. Pulley variator (which cost $ , BTW) came with 3 boss spacers (which would separate the inner and outer faces, so the belt rides lower in the variator). I used ZERO of them cause I thought I wanted more top end. But with the barn door of a windshield it gets pretty tough for the engine to drive the scooter over 55 or 60mph. Downhill, OK. But on a flat straight - no way. And with a headwind --- eh So, anyway, I don't hold much hope of getting to the kind of top end speeds you can get to, and am more interested in understanding why the rpms top out at 7,200 with such light (9gr) sliders. Thought I'd put in a spacer or 2 and see if that scooted the rpms up a bit. Damn me. Can't find them; seems I've tossed 'em (or they are buried somewhere). So will have to wait till it's finally time to toss this variator. btw: I asked John about upgearing and your advice. His response was that he was not sure what gears were in the thing now (OEM) and so it would be difficult to help. R U sure all GY6 scoots come with the same standard gears? I forget what mine came with, think 13/40?? but I got the same ones alley got 16/37 and man they are perfect,,my stock motor even had enough power to push them before BBK...they are a little harder on the clutch so I got an NCY 3rd gen.with bell to do soon as it warms up a bit,,I might just beat on my stock clutch for a while and see how much it can take first...lol..16/37 way to go man,,i got a press here if you ship me the gears I will press them for you no charge,,just the ride.

If that JB weld doesn't hold you can find a welding shop or mechanic with a TIG welder and he can fill that hole with hot aluminum for a few bucks...it wont leak anymore.
Thats weird,,I will look at mine next time,,don't think it had epoxy there at all...

A libertarian is def better then a liberal. Hey jersey , you seem like a great person and I meant nothing disrespectful by it. When I read it back I felt as if it could be taken out of context. Just because you may have some different views doesn't at all make you a bad person. You can usually tell what type of person someone is pretty easy , its a little harder online but I'm getting it down pretty good. And you are a very good person. No worries Geh,, Yeah a Libertarian is better than a liberal,I always had a terrible hard time trying to choose between two evils or the lesser of...I just believe we should all have freedom of choice and the government should stay out of our lives as much as possible,,I'm all for Liberty.God is the big judge in the end so let people do what they will...they are going to do it anyway even if its against the law or immoral. They just like to make $$ off our decisions,,especially when we break the laws. Sorry lain,,just wanted to let geh know,,hes alright...lol Back to the breaks sticking,,did you lube all the pivot points, make sure the spring is strong, and also check that all the bushing areas are smooth? There is not much to the rear break system.
