Peirspped is an importer. If I recall they at one time they were in discussions to be US distributer for the SYM line but that ended up with Carter Bros then alliance.
I know they sell the Madass but no zero about the scooters. I think they mainly inport from Taiwan but not sure.

The Reflex is IMO one on the best all around mid-sized scoots ever made. All the best.

Just a couple of thoughts on all the above. Buying a scooter should not be a crap-shoot , particularly at those prices. I'd love to see this "manufacturing plant" in Clearwater. At best it's a warehouse. I would bet the farm nothing is manufactured there.Listen closely to guys like spandi. He knows china made scoots as well as any and what their value is/isn't. If he and others tell you those prices are more Kymco or SYM I would take that advice. I would add the SYM made Lance scooters. I like the PCH 150. Also available in a solid 125 for under 2k. Both come with a 24 month warrantee. lancepowersports.com/models/pch150.htmlOr nothing wrong with a china scooter for the right money. Two grand plus is out of hand for a 150. Best of luck in your search.

Ill allow a test ride if: 1-has motorcycle endorsement if applicable. 2-has all proper riding gear. 3-over the age of 21 4-provides funds in full, cash or bank check, to be held until scoot is returned in the condition it left in.

I second the trip. I would most definitely NOT buy from that miserable excuse of a retail store. Sounds like the customer isn't just second to the dollar, you're not even on the consideration at all. Sorry, but really crappy attitude. >'Kat I agree Kat. They decided to go online only for a reason. Ill bet part of that reason is poor customer service at the B&M store. If you can't deal with customers face to face I'd hate to be on the wrong end of a Internet only deal with them. Just speculating..... Buy where they are happy to see you.

Whew,
Lots of choices! I stopped by "Moxie" Scooters today, and they are terrific. I've been there before. They are a long-term, FIRST-CLASS B&M store, featuring Kymco, Buddy and others. (They even have Italian sidecars!) Since Kymco is now going from 200 to 300cc, dropping the 250's, they are selling at great prices. In addition, I have some buyers for some firearms, and along with trading "Lil' Bubba" (Yes, they even take Chinese rides in trade!) I may be able to get a MINT (as in LIKE-NEW) Kymco 250 without spending any out-of-pocket money. I think that scoot would be plenty good enough for me. I wasn't aware Kymco had any 250s in the line since they dropped the Grand Vista a couple of years ago. What model are you looking at ?

It's hard to beat the Reflex, its rare to hear a bad story. That being said there are a bunch of 250-300cc Chinese scoots that have served their owners well. I've had my eye on a roketta MC-122–250. I rode this scoot as the Znen Roar and liked it a lot. Still do and haven't ruled it put yet for my next buy. There's also a lot to be said about "new". roketa.com/product/2610/0/59577.shtmlIt goes by a bunch of names but I like both the ride and the look. It is a little unique in a world of a lot of the same old thing. Good luck and enjoy the shopping. It is a unique design and not a copy of anything, that being said it has weak points (I've got the 2011 version of this) There have been problems on some of the Roars. 1.The crank bearing going out (I use synthetic oil and moly lube) 2. Starter clutch has been known to go out early on some unfortunate models. (ordered a CN250 OEM starter clutch and using loc-tite and peening the bolts) 3. Replaced exhaust bolts (known to snap) with British stainless steel. 4. Got rid of the wheel bearings (one in back had pressed up against the spacer, popped the seal, and sent bearing grease all over. (I put in ceramic bearings and have no problems at all.) Now it is possible you may encounter NONE of these problems (I prefer to be proactive.) Still it is unlike any other scooter design, (especially for a Chinese Bike) and the sculptural lines are simply beautiful. Thanks for the heads up. This is interesting because I have a B&M local dealer that sell them. I've always had theses drop shipped but this place has been around for 10 years and has a good record. The big thing is price. I'm willing to pay a premium to the dealer over a drop ship but at the moment that " premium " is a bit high.

post #5 of this thread by Tarkus: "Thankyou. For a while I thought that the "gift" of low priced products talked of here was to be respected. It's not. We can try to kid ourselves about who and how these scooters are made but the fact remains that china cares about nothing but the money. It doesn't matter that workers toil in horrid conditions for little pay. When one worker goes down remove them and add another. Yes American industry can be a nasty place but since the early 1900's there has been at least some recourse to the "robber Barron" method of factory control. To even make a comparison is ludicrous. China makes American industry, as bad as some companies may be, look like saints. I consume as many china made products every day as the next guy but never forget what I saw in china. No these people didn't set out to give us a gift." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you tell me I'm pitching a "moral high ground" go back and read the above from my second post of this thread. No moral high ground just stating a fact. I don't fool myself into thinking all is well where so many products we consume are made. Sure those nasty conspiracy folks from the NY Times, Bloomberg, Washington Post and the UN etal just keep spreading those lies. Just because one sees a video of smiling workers and no children at a plant that the government allows visitors doesnt mean all is well. Again I see no video of the mines, rubber plants etc. Not much more to say. Do you even READ what I write? I said "tone of moral authority" and again you climbed upon your soapbox to condemn the behavior of the Chinese towards their workers, while conveniently sidestepping your own involvement for twenty years in their "exploitation" (sorry but you can't have it both ways) Shall we lay our cards (as it were) on the table sir? You have been using an administrative (and moral) argument against the mainland's motoring machines, when the fact is: YOU JUST DON"T LIKE CHINESE SCOOTS! End of story. On all your posting you have been unequivocal in you condemnation of the product, and that is your privilege. But as I have stated before for those with sufficient mechanical skills Chinese bikes can be and economical, reliable, and just plain fun means of transport. For others not so gifted there is always the "Brand names" and dealer support. (Btw, my tires are Pirelli, and last I checked the company conformed to all labor laws.) Here you go ill lay it on the table as you say. I worked for a company that had/has practices of severe exploitation. You own a scooter that has parts made by exploited workers. I'm part of the problem, you're part of the problem. To deny there is a problem is not accepting facts. There is no way for you to check to manufacturing of every part in your scooter. By the way you talk about the rubber but still didn't mention the metal. That's a side step. There all laid out. Your claim that I don't like china scooters is off the wall and childish. I have not made a comment on the quality of the product. You sir have a problem with the truth. With that I'm done. Good day.
