John..that is part of what I was saying..the 50 and 150 crankshaft diameters are different size. So then this will require only the 150 11 pole stator and you use your stock 50cc 8 pole flywheel as the 150 flywheel shaft hole would be too large..correct?

Corn Fused... is this a mod for the 50cc or 150cc GY6?.. Makes no difference Glen , it works great on both 50 and 150cc . Eric is working on a 150cc John John ah ok.. I remember you and I messaged about this 11 pole upgrade in the past. But did not know it would work for a 50cc. I have never measured..but I was under the impression the 150 stator had a bigger bolt pattern and over all diameter. Therefore it would not bolt to the block..nor would the flywheel fit over it.. So you use a 150 stator and the 8 pole 50cc flywheel? Hmm..

That is the exact same thing as the Shanghai Shenke (Jonway also) It is also branded as the Sunny 50. I used to sell them. Had good luck with them. Although not 'secret 63's' or other big bore size engine..they were quick for a stock 50. Why? I have no clue. We just called them 'Sleepers' cause out of the crate they ran faster than other brands we sold. Only problem we had was the cheap belts rarely made it to 1,000 miles. So before selling them we tossed in a Gates or Bando belt. Other than that..they were a dependable ride. A family a few towns over bought one from me years ago...all 4 of them take turns riding it. It has just under 16,000 miles and still runs great..however like most..the CDI did need replaced. But 16,000 miles and only needing a $10.00 CDI..well ya can't beat that... I think you got a great buy! Glenn

There is a new US distributor for Adly Scooters. Can anyone give me feedback on their experiences with Adly? How do they compare with the other Taiwanese scooters(Kymco and SYM) Thanks Adly is now owned and sold by Lambretta. I have an Adly Thunder Bike 50 which is now the same EXACT thing as the Lambretta UNO.. Top quality scoots and love mine to death! It is better than my Benelli Andretti was even. Here 2 links for ya. All standard Minarelli/Jog parts fit except the belt which is an 878-17-28. www.lambrettausa.com/Home/UNO50/www.lambrettausa.com/Home/Where+to+Buy/default.aspxGlenn...

What is so funny? That is a rode side repair procedure. Everybody knows that sometimes when your carb float sticks..a rap on it with a wrench or other tool often frees it up...

Sounds like it could be your belt. They don't always disintegrate... I have had a few that 'delaminated'..where the layers exasperated off in layers and slapped the CVT cover making a sound as you described. As for law enforcement..I have lost all faith in them. The small town I lived in for 3 years up until last year..I was probably the most harassed person in town. Pulled over MANY times for no reason while riding my Scoot. Each time their only 'probable cause' was that I was a 50 yo man riding a Scooter.Saying this is common for younger folks but raises their concern to see a person my age on one. ok..huh? Was also threatened with a ticket for pushing my Scoot. Plug was loose and it blew out..easy fix but I had no tools with me. I was well off the roadway as the road sides out there have a 10 foot shoulder on them that folks use when walking or riding their bicycles into town. Said I either have it towed or get a ticket for obstructing traffic. I 'fake called' my buddy with a truck to come get me and the officer drove off. Once he was out of site and heading into Fenville the next town over..I pushed it the last mile or so home. Ah but my fave..a lady in town arrested for a DUI while pushing her old Honda Hobbit.. We saw her pushing it as we went to town to pick up a few groceries and on the way back she was gone so we assumed she made it home. Her brother drops by and asks if I can give him a ride to pick her up from jail. They had been drinking beer while watching a Baseball game. She needed to get home to feed her dogs and let them out. Afraid to ride it she pushed it home. She blew a .09 and the law in Michigan is .08 so she was legally intoxicated..however she was not operating a motor vehicle. The Officer admitted he followed her from her brothers..where she was pushing it and never rode it. Charge was reduced to 'Drunk in or about a motor vehicle' While that is a law in 12 states that we found..it is not in Michigan. Yet she was still charged and fined for it. While I don't condone drinking and driving..I also don't condone collecting revenue from a non existent law. As I frequently say these days.. "Serve and protect" has now become.."Serve to collect".. Now for the funny and ironic part here. In that town there is a Biker Bar that is packed every weekend. Every night you see guys stagger out to their 'Hog' and ride off as an Officer sits across the street to catch folks that fail to drop down to 35 coming into town..and also many fail to make a complete stop at the flashing traffic light. Yet nobody messes with the Bikers. Too scared maybe? A payoff from the bar owner maybe? So whatever ya do..do not push your scooter through Grand Junction or Pullman Michigan..unless you have the money to blow on a ticket..

If its different it wouldn't be an a8 camshaft it would be an a9 or a10 Well..since an A9 cam has 119 degrees of LSA(lobe separation angle) with 5. lift and an A8 has 116 degrees of LSA with 5.50mm lift.. Not sure how an A8 could be advanced angle.. This must mean the angle is greater than an A8's 116 degrees. While only 3 degrees more to make an A9..that 3 degrees makes a big difference along with its extra lift. Soo..saying if you advance the angle of an A8..such as a tiny 3 degrees..you are right..it would be an A9... hmmm The whole idea of a low end torque cam..such as an A8..is that it has a REDUCED LSA... confusing...

Assuming the 30mm carb is for a 150cc? Issue I have seen with the A8 cam is that is a low end- mid range torque cam...not a high end top speed one. The LSA(lobe separation angle) is less..and is not as long in valve opening duration and amount of valve lift as an A9. So it can't really take advantage of the higher flow carbs. That was for a GY6 80cc Scoot though. But 50 and 150 A8's have the same specs.. HOWEVER!! Talk about a awesome takeoff that gets you up to and way above the speed of traffic when doing city driving..it does great! You are well ahead of cagers that have this crazy idea that every Scooter HAS to be passed..no matter how fast it is going. But you will be at the next red light waiting for them to arrive anyway..lol..and for some reason this blows their minds and annoys them at the same time.

Yup..what he said..check that. If it was a bad keyswitch or kill wire issue..it would crank from jumping the solenoid..but not fire and roar to life.. Also if you hit the start button and hear a faint 'click' the solenoid could be bad. So when you 'jump' across the solenoid you are creating the contact to your starter.. A way to check your keyswitch is..turn the key to 'off' and remove key..unplug keyswitch..then kickstart the scooter..it it fires up it may be in the keyswitch wiring. But have to concur with Alley on this one.. Glenn

Guys, thank you so much. Now I just have to find the regulator for my model! One more question, is the regulator located by the battery? If it's not, do I have to remove the plastic to get access to the headset? Where exactly is it? Nearly all of them are under the body panel in front.. i.e. the panel your headlight is in. It should be bolted near the handlebars...Easy job to do..

Does this mean this site is only for things like.. "Scoot died won't start".."My battery won't charge".."Will a 34mm carb work on my stock 50 and give better performance".."How do I make a 50cc GY6 go 60 mph?"..and repeated things of that nature.. I was hoping somebody could explain the port differences and what they do..since we know that installing the wrong piston kit has Ill effects on the engine..

The thing to remember is that port size, placement and shape work like a cam on a four stroke. It's going to control duration, and timing for intake and exhaust scavenging. The piston has to work with the ports since it's like the valves on a four stroke. The piston opens and closes those ports. A lot of the work done with the head and cam on a four stroke is done with the piston and cylinder ports. 2 strokes are simple and complex at the same time!... Bingo Sir. Exactly what I was getting at. Each of these pistons are one on Ebay and from Vendors here that folks buy. But since each one is so different..I can now see why their new rebuild when buying a piston kit..more often than not runs worse that it did with the worn components. I then noted folks just buy any piston kit that is 47mm and install it with the cylinder they have...only to be disappointed. One of my questions by looking at each piston..since they are like 4T cams..is that which would give more top end output..which would give more low end. i.e. the small ports higher in the piston..the long ports in the piston..or lastly the bottom pic where it is not a hole for a port..it is just a notch. Hoping to get some input..
