From what i have seen and what customers have told me the A9 is best for top end speed. I have yet to try out a A8 myself so let us know how you like it.

Its going in with the taida 61mm kit I bought from you was going to do the taida head but decided to do a stroker instead. Going from the 61mm ncy to the taida 61mm to compare the two will report the results.

I'd go with the 3mm stroker if I don't have to fight to figure out what size timing chain id need and I see your cranks don't come with the chain or spacers.

How about some pictures of the build. So we can see the case and how the 61mm jug fits etc.. Alleyoop

What are you going to do to the head to handle the extra volume? Port and flow or a new head?

Before you put in the stroker crank I think you will have to grind off a bit material on the crankcase. Att least I had to... BTW, I didn't fell much difference with the A8 cam when I tried it. The best cam I've tried so far is the one which came with this kit: High Performance Tuning cylinder head "V2" big bore 66mm highlink Iv'e so far tried the following cams: Original, A8, A9, A12, A14 and ZV

Assuming the 30mm carb is for a 150cc? Issue I have seen with the A8 cam is that is a low end- mid range torque cam...not a high end top speed one. The LSA(lobe separation angle) is less..and is not as long in valve opening duration and amount of valve lift as an A9. So it can't really take advantage of the higher flow carbs. That was for a GY6 80cc Scoot though. But 50 and 150 A8's have the same specs.. HOWEVER!! Talk about a awesome takeoff that gets you up to and way above the speed of traffic when doing city driving..it does great! You are well ahead of cagers that have this crazy idea that every Scooter HAS to be passed..no matter how fast it is going. But you will be at the next red light waiting for them to arrive anyway..lol..and for some reason this blows their minds and annoys them at the same time.

I shouldn't have to remove any material off the oil pump housing or get a longer chain if I stay with 3mm or less stroker cranks. Just a shim or a few gaskets.

I'd go with the 3mm stroker if I don't have to fight to figure out what size timing chain id need and I see your cranks don't come with the chain or spacers. I was sold out of spacers which is why i was not including them and more are to arrive this week. as for chains the 3mm does not require a longer chain. my daily drive scooter is a 3mm stroke and all i did was install spacer and grind down a little at the oil pump. 4mm also does not require a longer chain. now the 6mm+ require longer chains.

Great if you get spacers in I'll buy the 4mm then, let me know I have my motor all apart in my basement. I have read that the 6mm need the piston shaved and that it may leave the cylinder sleeve and eventually ruin your motor.

I have read that the 6mm need the piston shaved and that it may leave the cylinder sleeve and eventually ruin your motor. The 6mm does require alot more work. I have it on my other scooter and it is amazing and have had no issues with it but i had to do a lot of work. I checked at my store front and found a spacer at the display counter. If you order it i will include it for you.

That works, so the 4mm doesn't need a 92 link chain I don't want to get it all together and then get to the cam and have to start totally over and wait for the chain to come in.

No. Because when i did my 6mm stroked scooter the 92 link chain was too long and had to modify my chain tensior and make it longer to get it right. Now if you switch to the Taida valve heads then yes you will need it because it is a taller head. but your using the NCY head.

I'm using the ported head I got from you, I wanted the 4mm but was worried about the cam not fitting it will give me a full 180cc. I switched to the taida from ncy because the taida has slightly thicker walls was afraid the ncy would crack at the cylinder. We shall see if the taida with the thin walls can hold up with a stroker crankshaft, if it breaks I'll do I 62mm and be done this is the third cylinder kit in 600 miles all mainly for experimentation.
