many are selling this coil and cdi. don't waste your money. the coil has a loose fit and the cdi failed on my scoot in less than a month. www.ebay.com/itm/121122951933?ssPageName=STRKthis morning my scoot was a little hard to start and when i got it started the tach read over 4k rpm's at idle. it fixed itself in about 15 seconds. well, just now i tried to start and had major problems getting the engine running. when i finally did, the rpm's read over 14,000 at idle. i figured my gauge was faulty, it fixed itself in 30 seconds but was idling rough. played around with the carb but just couldn't get a smooth idle. took me a few minutes to realize the cdi might be bad. put the old one back on and all is good. ...now where can i order a GOOD RELIABLE cdi so i have a spare?

No input?.. That is typical for every thread I start.. you started the thread late at night for most members here and then bumped it first thing in the morning. give'em time to respond, they may not have seen it yet. this is the first time i have seen the thread... unfortunately i don't have the answers you're looking for but i can help by bumping your thread to the top. edit: plus you gotta figure only a handful of members can even answer that question... maybe less, idk.

superiorpowersports probably gets a better deal by ordering more and/or use a different supplier. i doubt scooterdepot's profit margin is an extra $649... nice post though, thx 4 the info. i hope to purchase a 250 within the next 6 months.

i like this one better and prefer "buy it nows". you really can't put too much weight in them or you could break your luggage rack. at least don't ride around with a lot of weight in them. it's perfect to store a rain suit or bringing home a bag of grocery's but i wouldn't store too many tools in there.

were you using this coil? www.ebay.com/itm/121122951933?ssPageName=STRKi bought that a few weeks ago and only used the cdi. was a bit annoying that i went through the trouble disconnecting mine to put the new one on but felt i had too as it fit really loose.

The water in ethenol is the enemy. Stabil and seafoam absorbs it. There is no water in ethanol. they don't purposely add water, ethanol naturally absorbs water. but i thought the main problem with ethanol is it gums up your carb.

do you know if the threads on the oil pan are ok? if it is just the plug that stripped then you can get a new one cheap. i bought one recently on ebay here: www.ebay.com/itm/171080405440?ssPageName=STRKif you only need the plug and do a little searching i'm sure you can find it cheaper.

i don't use it. i do spend the extra money and only put ethanol-free gas in my scoot. pure-gas.org/i don't know if seafoam or ethanol-free is worth it though.

just be certain not to fill it all the way to the top. otherwise the vacuum you create may make it difficult to remove. do it like the guy in the vid. he only filled about halfway leaving some room for air.

Anyone know off the top of their head about how much brake fluid goes in these 50cc chinese scoots? The farm stores biggest syringe is 35 milliliters....at least thats what I saw. i haven't done this yet but you should beable to take the plunger out in the middle of a fill after you close the bleeder screw. then you can add more fluid and continue... i assume that is why you were asking. i don't know how much fluid they take.

well it only spins my tire a few inches and jerks the machine forward... more annoying than funny tbh. my heart sinks every time it happens. i don't want to break anything, especially my belt. i can't get the variator nut off even with impact wrench.

mine burns up my tire on the road if i WOT from a dead stop when cold. it has very good acceleration until 15mph then my rpms drop and takes forever to get up to 45. i really need to change my weights but whatever, it works. i try to go easy on the throttle when cold to avoid wearing out my tire, belt and clutch.

does the belt ride to the top of the variator when you open the throttle? Next question... Since this "mechanic" kept most of my bolts that hold the crankcase, & swears he doesn't have them. Is there any place I can order them? i replaced one of mine at ace hardware. it wasn't an exact match but it was the same thread and length. cost me 40 cents for one.
