installed new air hose today, old one was split in half, was hoping it would solve my problem but i'm still having no luck tuning the carb. going to change the main jet and clean the carb tomorrow. hopefully i can get it purring again. today i noticed the clutch is taking its sweet time disengaging at idle. i see a trend starting... with nearly 16,000km i guess parts are going to fail.

I talked to the previous owner and he could not tell me anything more beside his son said it was not running right did you order a new carb? if not then spend some time unsealing the stock carb while you're waiting on new parts. without access to the jets and air/fuel ratio screw you will have the same problems as the previous owner.

Here in Vegas, it's not the kids, it's the adult vermin that steal scooters, I have video to prove it, one from the theft of an employee's and now the video from my incident last nite, both adults! I went to Home Depot this morning and purchased a good heavy 4' length of chain. yeah well i guess when i think of an adult... i think intelligence. i should have included crack heads, drunks and just your average dummy. sorry you've gone through this twice recently. awhile ago i was leaving work to find my scooter lying on the ground. either someone purposely pushed it over or a cager ran it over. regardless i felt a little rage that day and my scoot was still in working condition so i can only imagine how hard it is to find some moron disrespected and broke your property.

i have the same size tires on my scoot and ran into this problem recently. i ended up ordering 2 Shinko's 130/60-13. i would either get a different tire or a slightly different size (as long as you're certain it will fit)
i wouldn't put a tire on the front that was designed for the rear.

So they moved the bike? It was not locked? What the he** are you thinking, JerryScript? Even though it is not 100% effective; a lock and chain provides excellent protection when paired with steel poles, nice thick trees or well-anchored hand rails. I know you know this, but I have had a couple scoots stolen and I do not wish that dreadful feeling on anyone who has put hard-earned money, time and effort into scoot keep-up. If I have a choice of locking it to a strong anchor out-of-sight or leaving it unlocked in-sight: I will choose the lock method 100% of the time. JMO. I pray that I never have to see this type of post from you again, JerryScript Very disheartening. i don't have a lock for my scoot either. i always thought i would need to lock it to something but most of the time their isn't a tree or pole near. another thought was the only thing a lock will do is deter kids... professional thieves will get through any lock. with that thought, we are really only trying to deter kids since most career criminals aren't going to waste time with a scooter. saw this vid today and with that thick cable wrapped around the body through the rear wheel i doubt any kids would attempt to steal... possibly vandalize though.

I will definitely clean the old piston and keep everything as my spare parts. I have not checked the crankshaft yet. I will need to look up for YouTube video on how to do that first lol. Thank you for your suggestions and wishes. I am willing to learn more on this if you could give me any opinions/comments/suggestions, I will really appreciate it. And I am sure everyone here welcomes other opinions too. well OK, i won't stay silent if you're not getting the info you need. i just don't want to add to the confusion. not sure if you will find a video. i believe they have special tools to determine the exact amount of play but i think you can just grab the rod and try to move it both in/out and side to side. if it has any noticeable play then you have real trouble.

if it was my scoot i wouldn't buy any new parts unless i knew they were bad. new piston and cylinder is fine, they are cheap enough but you could clean up the old piston as long as you don't see any scratches on the cylinder, just my opinion. soak in wd40 and you can get most of the carbon off.
new parts are fun but they are not always necessary. this scoot only has a 1,000 miles on it and from the looks of it the only problem is it was running rich. put it together and try to get it started imo. then we can trouble shoot what parts may need to be ordered. also, someone mentioned checking the crankshaft to see if it has any play. if you haven't done that yet, i think it is fairly important. edit: since you already have the piston removed.
good luck, i'll be keeping the rest of my opinions to myself, plenty of better scooter mechanics on this site than me.

Alley always scolded me about getting ANYTHING other than a Koso. But GEH claims his new Koso might not be like the good old days. i read that thread... my thoughts were --- who really knows if he got a genuine part? i've never used hoca, my koso variator from john performed well.

Did you have to change anything else with that modification, belt / clutch? no, same size belt n didn't touch the clutch.

i wonder what you mean by hand exactly? do you mean with a ratchet? or literally with your fingers? i can rotate my engine with a ratchet but i don't think i could with my fingers. if you mean with your fingers then i would suspect the engine is missing many internal parts. start taking it apart and post pictures. many members here can help you get it running. How's it going ? You should be able to turn the engine by hand " just by grabbing the fan and turning it . you should also be able to turn the engine by turning the variator by hand . it may get a little hard on the compression stroke but it should still turn. yeah ok i agree... guess i was picturing rotating the engine by attempting to get my fingers around the nut with the fan cover on. i would have a hard time just getting one finger in there and then trying to rotate the engine would be difficult.

i didn't know craigslist had ethics. no need to feel obligated unless someone gives me a small deposit. i am selling to the first person that puts cash in my hand.

i also voted the cvt. upgrade the variator to a 115mm. i believe the 150's come with 108mm stock. it is the only mod i have done on my 150cc. increased my top speed by 7mph and dropped my rpm's by about 2,000 at 45mph.
easily the best mod you can do for a 150cc imo.
