i assume you need to weather proof every electrical connection and then you should be fine but i've never done it. i would buy a new scoot before i spent a day doing that. just get one with less plastic, that's my plan for the next purchase.

I'm a big believer in the paranormal and UFO - alien presence. i'm not familiar with the Tunguska event, agree with the rest except the part i quoted. well obviously UFO's exist... that term classify's any unidentified object in the sky. imo, UFO's are secret test projects. shooting stars, some other random debris or the mind seeing something that isn't really there. which brings me to the paranormal. our perception of reality is not always correct. watch a few minutes of this vid, or the whole show if you like. tried to set it to start at 2:25... go to the 2:25 minute mark if it doesn't automatically. now figure in drugs, brain tumors, or maybe something as simple as fear/anxiety and it doesn't surprise me so many people report paranormal activity. Tesla was a true genius and it's unfortunate that i never heard his name until recent years. the history books we read in school praised edison but failed to mention he had many engineer's working on projects under his name.

over 15,000km and i've never washed my scoot. i do change the oil every 1,000km but other than that i just ride. thought i would add to this... when i had my 50cc i was tinkering with it at least every other week. anytime i noticed a slight change in performance i would adjust valves, carb and/or cvt. it was a constant battle to maintain top speed. now that i have a 150cc i rarely do more than basic maintenance. i rarely push it past 45mph so i really don't notice when it is under performing and losing top speed. today it isn't running well so that's what reminded me of my constant tinkering with the 50cc. time to open my tool box.

my shinko's just arrived. obviously don't have them mounted but i can tell the rubber is very soft. should grip the road well, my only concern is tread life. i'm guessing they will wear faster than my rock hard stock tires but with the rain season coming soon i think the shinko's will grip the road better in wet conditions.
still not looking forward to mounting these tires but i will enjoy them when the work is done.

edit: omg i just watched the vid. how the heck does he not know she went down? i don't think i will ever carry a passenger, it's dangerous enough with just me.

i don't have any personal experience with either tire. from what i have read kenda has a lot of mixed reviews, mostly bad, and shinko has mostly favorable reviews. i have a set of shinko's arriving today. not the same tread you are considering but i could give you my opinion of the sr429 in a couple days.

Moms and Dads - Please teach your kids that it is a bad idea to lane split between two EIGHTEEN WHEELERS. yeah, and don't follow so close to a sports bike with duel disk brakes.

Tomorrow I'll add some Dyna Beads, but really I don't see it as necessary. So ::~ my take ::~ no need at all to balancing these things. thx for the vid! i will be replacing both tires next week, the tips i learned in that video should make this difficult job a little easier. if you used soap the dyna beads may be useless. not sure about other lubricants but i know when i used soap to mount tires on my last scoot the dyna beads stuck to the soap.

seems to be back to normal. took 2 fill ups and an ounce of heet (brand of dry gas). it was still running rough for about 15 miles after i used the dry gas. i was close to swapping the cdi as Leo suggested but it magically fixed itself.

I got my new cap and everything. I can't remember, how do I put the filter thimble looking thing in? Facing up or down? I usually put it in facing down from the top of the spring.

bad fuel?

i did some reading on a few other sites last night and i'm pretty much convinced it's water in the tank. i assume it wasn't too bad the last few miles to work since it didn't have time to settle but by the time i got out of work all the water would have settled to the bottom of the tank. i didn't find any info on the dangers of running your engine with water in the tank. makes me a bit nervous when the scoot is violently shaking. i've never had problems with mobil before but you can bet i won't ever go to that specific gas station again.

i filled up on my way to work then a mile later i noticed a slight loss of power. i arrived a few minutes later and didn't give it anymore thought. well on the ride home it was running rough and stalled a few times and that's when i remembered i just filled up from a different station.
if it's not bad fuel then i think i have serious valve problems. i'm going to drain it tomorrow but is it OK to ride it a couple miles to get fresh fuel? i don't want to bend a valve if i haven't already.
