OK, so I've given up on the P.O.S. Dr. Pulley variator I got last fall. $ down the drain. But what to get! Alley always scolded me about getting ANYTHING other than a Koso. But GEH claims his new Koso might not be like the good old days. Thoughts please ..... tvnacman --- you around?

I love my Koso! But I also love grilled cheese and pnut butter, so maybe I have bad taste? When did u buy your koso ? I loved my first koso , but the last three " all bought within a yr were different . I'm still waiting to try the new one from John , but its the same type " as in dimensions " . also over the summer john posted one of the measurements he took of his and it matched my old koso , but the one I got matched the newere ones. So I'm thinking he recently acquired the newer type.

I'll buy this one next . from the pic , it looks as if the inner part where the boss slides in is like my first koso . but I can't be 100% sure . m.ebay.com/itm/171046804998?nav=SEARCH. If you notice , the back plate is has the same print as the Koso's . I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same , but hopefully the onlder version. The problem with the newer ones that I've got was first they where about 60 grams or so heavier , they don't allow the belt to drop all the way , and I had to use a gram lighter rollers to be able to hit top rpm. I actually don't consider having to use a lighter weight roller a problem , just strange considering 9- 9.5 gram weights are unusual for a 150cc .

Bought mine about a year and a half ago. That makes sense , I'd like someone to verify my findings , but I don't know anyone who has bought a koso within the past yr , or recently from john.

I have noticed some variation in color , Geh you got one on the lighter side color wise . Thus far I have no performance complaints . I have gotten one about cosmetic , but keep in mind they are powder coated or painted . The coating imperfection was in an area around the outside that did not contact the belt or rollers . That went to Bashin on Doc with a few other items .
I looked at the links you guys posted , the products look nice and interesting . One of them is for a 250cc so that one is out . The other is a great price point and they come with a few different roller weights .
Have you guys looked at the other guys Scrappy and Valley ?
John

Will you let us know what you think about the quality of this set when you receive it? That is a very good price and I will purchase one also. I'll probably skip of changing the clutch springs. I haven't messed with mine yet. I have not had any problems or complaints of my stock clutch.

Don't have much to compare it with, so I don't know how valuable my "evaluation" will be .... but will let you know what I think once it arrives. BTW: the adv. didn't say so i asked: it IS a 115mm variator, according to the seller.

I like that it also comes with a new boss and clutch springs also. PS. If it works out good you should buy me one also .
