I think 155mm is too large did you mean 115mm. John OOPS Sorry, yes, of course. Better edit that I once had a 155mm koso , but it kept rubbing my calf so I decided to file it down and I ended up making a 32mm pumper carb out of it.

GOOD ONE !!!!!!!!!! How's your wife? I try , lol She is doing good , that actually released her sunday afternoon " kind of soon if u ask me " . I just updated the prayer thread . Have a question for ya - again on the clutch since i STILL am not sure i understand. This variator kit comes with clutch springs. If i understood what you explained before, THESE springs will only alter the RPMs at which the clutch engages/disengages - they will NOT affect either acceleration (once the clutch has actually engaged) nor will they affect top speed. If that's correct I'll not bother using the springs since i have no quarrel with when the OEM clutch engages. But if that's wrong maybe i SHOULD use the springs. But I dunno ... so .... your advice appreciated.

You are correct , however if the clutch engages at a higher rpm you will have a stronger quick takeoff.

I have noticed some variation in color , Geh you got one on the lighter side color wise . Thus far I have no performance complaints . I have gotten one about cosmetic , but keep in mind they are powder coated or painted . The coating imperfection was in an area around the outside that did not contact the belt or rollers . That went to Bashin on Doc with a few other items . I looked at the links you guys posted , the products look nice and interesting . One of them is for a 250cc so that one is out . The other is a great price point and they come with a few different roller weights . Have you guys looked at the other guys Scrappy and Valley ? John You are right - I put the wrong one in. Here is the version for a 150cc: www.2040parts.com/scooter-150cc-gy6-high-performance-racing-motorio-variator-set-new-generation-i859455/They claim they have 3 ramps cut for low speed and 3 others cut for high speed (with 2 different weight rollers for the different ramps). Curious idea, but i can't find anyone who has actually tested the thing and can report on how it works in the real world.

rcq92130 it looks like a nice product , but demands a nice $$$$$. John Yeah This past Summer I got a Dr. Pulley variator for even more ($ ) which is what I am going to use as a paperweight because it is total trash. You do NOT always get what you pay for.

and I was really anticipating getting a different variator from you, john, after the really good result with your advancing CDI ---
but the question marks with geh are not yet resolved. Darn.

I'll have those results 2moro , as log as it doesn't rain too early. If you look at the pic I posted of my clutch with the new koso , you can see how far down in the clutch the belt already is . that means the belt is not all the way down in the variator. The last thing I wanted to do was take business away from anyone , especially john. That was never my intentions. TBA I really hope the new koso surprises me and turns out to work great. But im not expecting any good news.

Now, I've only bought from John once, but have been privy to lost of comments from others. I think (b) is covered. But John cannot make the product. After wasting money on a Dr, Pulley (and suffering Alley's wrath because i bought before he told me to ONLY get Koso), I would really like to do better in terms of product. And, there are so many reports of counterfeits (which is one main reason to go to john). I was REALLY hoping he, as the product expert, wuold tell me the skinny on these issues you have raised. I'm kind of an open book to those who know more than me. But I guess I'll wait for your results. Who knows! And, anyway, I picked up one of those cheapies you linked to (already shipped - 2 day delivery). At a minimum I can maybe use the rollers, give the springs to someone who is interested. Maybe even the variator will be a surprise! If not - little lost. Oh - and I got 2 extras --- one to send you and the other in case yours is lost in the mail.
