Your own fault really, you cranked on the nuts, your lucky you did not break the stud in the intake. I have changed many and never a problem. And you should order a couple of the intakes they are not expensive and do not crank on them jut nice and tight it has a rubber O-ring gasket on the bottom to seal. It is not harden metal as you can tell it does not weigh a heck of a lot. If that piece was solid metal it would be pretty heavy. Alleyoop

This is not a science that you can say put this in if you got this, it is all trial and error. Also just porting the intake all that does is allow the air and fuel to flow smoothly. Also is that a 100cc BBK in there the pilot and main are awe fully big, even a 250cc motor does not have that big of a pilot jet even a 150cc motor either. I don't think you have to worry about seizing the motor I think you have to worry about flooding the poor thing.
People think DUMP A GALLON of gas and WOW the power in reality you just are making the motor loose power with to much gas, it cannot burn it all and it dumps it out the exhaust.

Working and tuning your CVT you can possibly get up to 5 more mph on your top end. That would include a 115mm Variaator and 11-12 gram weights. In addition if you scoot does not have a tach I would suggest you get one they are not expensive but are critical to tuning your carb, motor and cvt. Alleyoop

MORE POW!

Also remember just because you have more power does not mean it will get more top end speed. What you just built is a motor with more power so to get to speed you will get there much faster. But now that you have more power you can put in taller tranny gears for more top end speed and you will have the power to pull them. Also putting in a Stroker Crank the Stroker crank will cause of some loss of RPMS. Alleyoop

Pretty hard to get 180cc without boring the case, whoever is selling that kit I would like to see the kit and tell you if its true or not.
Main jet for a stock motor no performance exhaust or free flow filter I would try a #110 main jet but also have a the next one smaller just in case it is to much. Remember all motors are different all depends on their compression. Rule of thumb is add a free flow go up 2 on the main jet if you add a free flow muffler go up 2 more. The Pilot no bigger than a #35. Alleyoop

Have a 150cc BMS Heritage and looking for more POW! Doing the slider thing; have a better exhaust & intake, was about to rejet the teensy little 25cm carb. Then I thought: these carbs are not very expensive --- maybe it would be better to just get a 30cm carb. Good idea or crappy idea??? Bad Idea, a 30mm is to big of a carb for a 150cc motor. Just to give you an example My 157QMJ motor 149.6 is bored out and with a stroker crank is now 182cc's and I have a 24mm carb jetted, Main 122.5 and a 125 main to much fuel also Pilot 38 and 40 was to much fuel. In addition what you are contemplating putting in will not do much for any "POW" factor. Alleyoop

I would not do the ROPE A DOPE method for obvious reasons that most do not even think about. Get an Impact Wrench here is a good one a PLUG IN HOUSE HOLD outlet that puts out 230 Ft Llbs. It is 50.00 bucks but just google for their 20% coupon. Alleyoop www.harborfreight.com/12-in-electric-impact-wrench-68099.html

Blarboose, yes loss of vacuum would cause it to only be able to run at higher rpms and they will die at low rpms. Just like tight valves really. But it could be both so you will not know until you change the Intake manifold and if it still does it then adjust your valves. Alleyoop

If the prong is on there just the knob came off just make one and epoxy it onto the prong sticking out. Or you can make one using JB weld. Alleyoop

Then order them from a website if you Ace does not carry them. There are two ace stores near me One is a small town Ace and does not carry a lot of stuff but the other one is a big ACE and they have a lot more items. So it all depends on the Size of the Ace and also what products sell and do not sell plays into what they carry. Alleyoop
