You will look very macho while pooper scoopering after your dog team Hey! I resemble that! I spent a year poop-scoop-ing. And actually got paid for it. Sigh. Paid to luvey up doggos. What a job! Oh wait, there was also poop-scooping, and puke-scooping, and scrubbing out the kennels and kitty-boxes. And one dog attack. And one psychotic drutsab of a little monster who had figured out how to pull off the muzzle then tried to bite everyone. And one cat bite that clipped my nerve. But otherwise it was great. Learned a ton about dogs and cats, and grooming, and just everything. Kat! That adventure ranks up there with little Jan's sub-11's run on "Old Blue" in her skivvies! I think maybe this thread should include "macho" women! (Is there such a thing?) or is it "macha"...? Handling a bad dog that can remove its muzzle is just as edgy as a neutral-drop hole-shot with a teensy girl's hand on the shifter! Go girl! And ride safe, Leo

Some really entertaining stuff translated from Chinese to English...
The "manual" for my old Xingyue 150 had an interesting note on brake wear... "Notice to periodic inspection of the hoof. Thin wearing of hoof makes confidence to poor stopping and failure with death".
I finally gave up searching for horseshoes for that hoof!

Did something really stupid, got another Sportster. Not stupid... Just human. Once bikes are in one's blood, they stay there. My scoot has been down now for months. I've had a stroke, my Wife has had a stroke. Sometimes I can't even walk straight without grabbing onto a wall... LOL! I've seriously considered quitting riding entirely. Then, I see "Minnie Mouse" languishing in dirt, not running... And as soon as weather and health permits I'll be back wrenching to see if I can breath new life into her. When I get so off-balance that riding is dangerous, I'll probably go to a 3-wheeler. Just gotta get that wind on the old knuckles once in a while! Ride safe, and have a bone on the OCG!

Snowmobile... OR "Snow-Machine" as Alaskans insist they be called...
Years ago, I had a customer for my eBay projects who lived WAY off the grid in northern B.C. They got their mail dropped from a bush-plane, and picked up same way! Their ONLY transportation was as they put it, snow-machine (sorta reliable when gas was available) and the trusty dog-sled and Husky team (Always reliable). Heaven help them if they needed a doctor or ran outa food and couldn't shoot something!
As a little kid, I remember in Chicago one winter snow storm that totally shut down streets. A handful of guys with snowmobiles saved a lot of lives... Pretty macho!

I hadn't thought of the two pairs like that, Leo. I think you're right. Lots of abuse of the smaller by the bigger, but also affection there too. I'm gonna have to Google both Hales and see what else they were in. Kat, Allen Hale SENIOR was in all sorts of movies... JUNIOR looks like his TWIN only younger... LOL! Senior was a main character in "Action in the North Atlantic" a true adventure movie about the Liberty Ship "SS Sea Witch". My Dad went to the South Pacific on that same ship in WWII and it survived horrific storms and enemy attacks... He loved that ship, and we watched that movie many times together in the 1950's... I think Senior also played "Little John" in the Errol Flynn "Robin Hood" film... He was all over the silver screen. Good old fashioned acting without all the perversion and foul language that seems "necessary" today. Ride safe! Leo

Great pair to match up... The Skipper and Gilligan are very much a modern (?) counterpart to Laurel and Hardy... I'm old enough to enjoy BOTH, but even at 72, young enough to identify more with the Skipper... And am a big fan of his Dad, Allen Hale Sr. Jr. was surely a chip off the old block!
Gotta go with Allen Hale Sr. by a small margin!

Wheelbender6,35 years ago, I was enjoying a new little speedboat and threw it into a tight turn, throwing my Wife into the lake... LOL! I was brand-new to boats, and didn't realize they can turn a LOT harder than cars!So young, and SO much yet to learn... Good thing she landed in WATER! Like old pilots tell me: "If water was REALLY hard as ground, you'd see pelicans diving for gophers"...….

Leo, if the one-man show of George Burns is ever near you, go! You'll thoroughly enjoy it. Mom usually disliked non-musicals but really liked it. So did I, and I haven't encountered a lot of his routines. I'll have to watch for it. I do love the clean humor of the greats... George Burns, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Jackie Gleason... Red Skelton, Milton Berle and many others. Some of those greats were real patriots too... Like John Wayne, they helped keep America together during tough times. My Dad saw Bob Hope live in the Solomon Islands... He was at the "front of the front lines" and Hope wasn't supposed to go to places THAT full of active combat.Of course, Bob Hope wanted to entertain the guys who had it the worst, and was absolutely fearless. My Dad recalled how in the middle of his performance, a Japanese sniper shot at him, the bullet going through his hat! My dad and most of the other soldiers ducked for cover while a BAR man eliminated the sniper... Hope never even flinched... Just kept on making jokes while he put his finger through the bullet-hole in his fatigue cap. Then he laughed and mused: "If THAT is the BEST these jerks can shoot, it's gonna be a mighty short war!"Id love to see how one of today's left-wing, foul-mouthed comics would handle a similar situation... Oh wait... I forgot... None of them would consider supporting our troops... NOPE! Bob autographed that bullet-holed cap and gave it to one of the troops. What a souvenir!!!

Kat,
Floridagull got it right... I friend of mine was a fighter-pilot in Viet Nam and he says about the same... The helmet does protect one from a LOT of potential mayhem other than a crash... Which will usually kill you...
The newest helmets also have all sorts of technology for hands-free communication, flying, aiming guns/missiles, etc. but you won't find them for sale... LOL!
I'll just be glad when I finally again have a USE for MY old helmet! LOLOLOL!

Can't do this one, I like them both equally . I've gotta agree... I'm SO old I remember watching both these guys live on early B&W TV and in movies in the theater... Both SO entertaining without resorting to potty-mouth humor! And don't forget Jack's straight-man "Rochester" and George's straight-gal, wife "Gracie"... They really "made the shows"... Say goodnight, Gracie... "OK, goodnight Gracie"... LOL!

Kat,
I know a little bit of how it feels. Two years ago we lost our youngest son (56). Christmas without him was tough. He and his sweet wife always coordinated a big family Christmas. Now it's pretty mundane. Knowing where he is comforts us greatly! Hang in there, time heals.
Ah, so THAT'S an alligator saw! Don't know how I've never seen one... Looks mighty handy... Great for quick limb pruning, impromptu amputations, etc. Just kidding!
Maybe not as macho as a screaming vintage McCulloch with the big yellow two-stroke capable of felling big trees, but pretty neat!
Hang in there and be blessed!
Look forward to a FABULOUS New Year!
Leo

Kat,
Sorta kidding, but not really familiar with the gator-saw. I'm thinking it's a manual chain blade you pull back and forth with ropes. Our park here has several, and from watching the guys handle them, slinging them over high branches, saw, saw and saw, then the limb and the chain blade all falls down on them... Well, seems almost more macho than a gas-powered saw!
Your version may be a safer variety... LOL! But ANYTHING with a blade with teeth is potentially "Muy Macho"!
Hope you're having peace over the sadness of the recent past, and had a blessed Christmas!
My second new starter solenoid arrived, so when weather permits, I need to get wrenching... I really want the old scoot running for next season!
Be BLESSED!
leo (Betty too)
