Jackhammer. After using that thing for 5 minutes, I'm exhausted.

Well, let's see. They both make a huge mess and a ton of noise. So equal points there.
But I've never even touched a jackhammer. And I do own a chainsaw. Granted it's the petite version. Oh! And I also own an alligator chain saw. Yes, that counts as a chain saw--it has a chain, and it saws small trees and branches and stuff.
Since I'm about the most unmachoiest creature out there, winner must be jackhammer.

Kat, Don't underestimate yourself... Those manual chainsaws are pretty macho! Notice that I didn't say I actually USED the chainsaw. I just own one (well, actually Mom owned it). My brother has used it for us. But I have used the little gator-saw. But that has so many safety features it probably would make the macho-man weep.

Kat,
Sorta kidding, but not really familiar with the gator-saw. I'm thinking it's a manual chain blade you pull back and forth with ropes. Our park here has several, and from watching the guys handle them, slinging them over high branches, saw, saw and saw, then the limb and the chain blade all falls down on them... Well, seems almost more macho than a gas-powered saw!
Your version may be a safer variety... LOL! But ANYTHING with a blade with teeth is potentially "Muy Macho"!
Hope you're having peace over the sadness of the recent past, and had a blessed Christmas!
My second new starter solenoid arrived, so when weather permits, I need to get wrenching... I really want the old scoot running for next season!
Be BLESSED!

Gator-saw--
Just right for those upstart trees the critters "plant" for us.

And thank you, UncaLeo.
It was hard, esp Christmas Eve and being alone. At church, a lady moved her family to sit by me--"You shouldn't be sitting alone tonight." And I was busy enough late service, except for singing the prelude when there was no Momma listening in the back of the sanctuary. But in-between services was awful, just sitting alone with no Mom to share cookies and wine and "It's a Wonderful Life." And no presents. And nobody at all. Brothers didn't even call then (although I saw that my big bro did try during late church, which I'd told him I would be at, sigh)
Christmas Day was much better. Big bro FaceTimed before church to share opening my presents to them. After church, I went to my local bro's. So a nice time with family that day.

Kat,
I know a little bit of how it feels. Two years ago we lost our youngest son (56). Christmas without him was tough. He and his sweet wife always coordinated a big family Christmas. Now it's pretty mundane. Knowing where he is comforts us greatly! Hang in there, time heals.
Ah, so THAT'S an alligator saw! Don't know how I've never seen one... Looks mighty handy... Great for quick limb pruning, impromptu amputations, etc. Just kidding!
Maybe not as macho as a screaming vintage McCulloch with the big yellow two-stroke capable of felling big trees, but pretty neat!
Hang in there and be blessed!
Look forward to a FABULOUS New Year!
Leo

Since I'm about the most unmachoiest creature out there, winner must be jackhammer. Didn't you post fairly recently that you threw a shot put? Well, that makes you at least a tad macho. So, not the least macho person out there.

That was only for one track meet. And it was hard. And probably incredibly humiliating. I don't remember just how pathetically short my distance was. Boom-boom helped by kidding me that she feared for her record. (which btb I think is still the record today)
Although I did throw the discus several years at the summer track.
Seriously, I'm probably lucky I didn't lob it onto my foot.
