I think it may be a little more then just running rich. Just plug was jet black after running it at WOT and hitting the kill switch. While I was waiting on a reply I figured I would adjust the valves. I adjusted some on another scooter this morning it it stopped all tapping. I was trying to figure out why I could not get the second scooter (the one with the running rich issue) to adjust properly. I rechecked to make sure the T lined up for TDC and it did. I then looked at the cam and it wasn't. I turned it until the cam was TDC and the T was about a 1/8th of a turn off. Could this be the issue of it running rich and bogging out? Running out to take pics and add them in a second.

I read this from another thread.
"Different sounds a motor makes tells you what it needs, so listen for any sounds the motor makes.Popping while accelerating is a RICH condition. Popping while de-celerating is a LEAN condition. Burp Sounds accelerating is a LEAN condition Backfires are a Lean condition.
Lets find out which situation(LEAN OR RICH) is causing the problem. Run the sucker like you do when it STARTS TO ACT UP Back off the THROTTLE about 1/4 OF AN INCH and HOLD IT THERE: A. If the scoot Speeds up it is running LEAN. B. If the scoot Sputters or whatever BUT settles down it is running RICH.
This way you will know what it needs(more or less juice)."
Can I adjust how lean or rich it is running by adjusting the air/fuel mixture or will i need to rejet?

I ordered parts online for the first time from Scrappy this week and they are already here. Pretty fast delivery (Nevada to Florida) I must say. It was just a couple of idle jets but I'm impressed by how fast they got here. Thanks ScrappyDog.

I've also noticed a lot of new people joining. I think this board will grow into what the other board was in time. I am more of as lurker but I have recently turned fixing scooters into a hobby so I'm sure I will be posting a bunch in the future.

Changing airflow in any way will reguire rejetting. If you know your way around a scooter motor it shouldn't take longer then 10 to rejett from start to finish.

I have been thinking a out how ugly they are also. I'm just going to shorten mine up some so that nothing hangs below the bottom of the tag.

I finally got the black motofino running at idle. As soon as I try to give it any gas it just dies out.
Things I have done, Changed out carb, cdi, coil wire and intake.
What would make it still die every time I try to give it a little gas?

It is a 50cc. It's really slow (25 mph) but a blast to ride. If I can get a title worked out on it I might be keeping this one for sure.

Thanks for the ITS reference.
Update on scoots. The I have out about 20 miles on the spree and its running like a champ. All I have to do now it get a battery, seat cover and a good cleaning. The blue/purple scoot was running yesterday but rough. After checking the spark I replaced the plug and it was still crappy. I changed the coil wire and its running pretty good but instill need to get air fuel mixture right and it will be ready for the road. The black scoot will be next and I'm guessing tomorrow seeing as I have a lot of free time then. Keeping fingers crossed that is turns out as easy as the other two.
Updates coming......
