I'm still stuck at the 2nd battery dieing. Being stator and /or R/R Hopefully just a fuel issue (meaning, what did u do/fix before it quit working? Fuel filter)

But don't a lot of these scoot engines have a compression ratio of 10:1? 8.5:1 is fine for the regular, but the higher compressin ones need Ethel. So, I guess the answer is: It depends. Not to be confused with the Depends that some of us Sr Citizens wear. (Sorry Alley) (LOL) Yes, most of these engines have a 10:1 compression ratio or higher. I get better performance and more mpg using a lower octane fuel. If your engine pre-detinates (pings) then you should use a higher octane. No, the higher compression engines do not need ethanol, they need more octane. I try to use non- ethanol fuel, as ethanol draws moisture, deteriorates rubber and gets less mpg. Roy Oopss My bad Ethel is the old term for premium gas (before they had unleaded) Alley is the only one who would remember that.

why spend $5 on a special tool. Don't some vale caps still have the grove in em to tighten the stem?
This is, assuming, of course, that you already checked for nails, etc in the tyre.

hey..good idea!!! GPS chip...cause of all mine stolen...the Police tell you straight to your face "Sir we do not look for stolen mopeds,Scooters or Motorcycles, if we find it abandoned somewhere we will call you" on one of the Sunny's stolen...I found it. Nobody was home when I knocked. I had the original keys(but did not matter they had punched the lock out) I also had the factory sent MCO in hand....matched the VIN numbers exactly...then called the Police. They told me to get off the property immediately as it had potential for a dangerous situation. So I left and went home. No Officer showed up to get my MCO...called every2 hours that day...still no one showed up at my place or the thieves place. What a dummy the perpetrator was...he only lived just over 1 MILE from me. Thought he would ride it in town and not get noticed? Most likely he was gonna sell it to a person far away I would...unless he really was that stupid.. Regardless after 3 days of non stop calls they never showed up here or there. So I rolled up to an Officer hiding next to the Elementary School in their favorite speed trap. Showed him the MCO...he copied the VIN and said give him an hour. That was 7 a.m....by 7p.m. still nothing. So I call dispatch..and she says..."Sir, can you give us that VIN again, and I will get someone out there" Well been 18 months and still nothing. The guy lives right across the street from our Doctors office..and one day 2 mos. my gf went for an appointment. She used her cell phone and video recorded them put it in a truck and drive north out of town. Another phone call..and yup...you guessed it...STILL nobody showed up. Me thinks that sometimes, ya just gotta take matters into your own hands. If I found my stolen property in someone elses yard, garage, parking lot, ... it's coming home with me..

Do these scoots hve wet clutches? Or, does the oil have to be free of oil additives? (Non energy conserving) Like the Honda GN-4 MC oil?
I know- I'm asking stupid questins, but, I'm new to scoots. Grew up on MC engines, goldwing/shadow/magna

Agreed to the part about 50 being border line, a 150 being middle ok, but my Zodiac has a 300 (+/-) And yea, the damn thing is heavy, supposedly 573 lbs. Almost as heavy as my Honda Shadow Sabre. 3 wheels is a different ride/handling, agreed. And, yes, with that weight, and three wheels to turn, it's ain't gonna be as fast as a 2 wheel scoot with same engine.
I made the decision to get this trike cause no US/Japanese mfgr offered anything in the form of a trike. (without paying $25K-$32K) And a Can Am just wasn't getting it, even at a mere $20K +/- And, I didn't wanna get a scoot and have it triked. Cost woulda been more than double what I paid for the Zodiac.
Still working on the registration/title/plates, so haven't been able to give my analysis of it yet.

Agree with adjusting the idle screw. As far as the clunk, make sure the front caliper is tight. Actually, you should spend the entire day going thru the entire bike with a screwdriver and socket set, tightening every last nut/bolt/screw you can find. And change all the fluids, plug, etc etc. You already mentined getting a new muffler
Yes, if the front end dives when you do a hard stop, it could be the fork oil. Not sure what weight these scoots use, by my Honda Shaodw came with 10W, and I replaced (along with Progressive springs) it with 20W.

3 wheeled scoots are defective in design. 1. the rear wheel is missing. The weight of it acts like a vibration damper. Without it the scooter vibrates like crazy. Add a hack 100cc oversize to a stock 50 and you are asking for a major vibration monkey. Not to mention the engine will blow up sooner than later. Don't waste money on a 50cc trike. Buy a real one. Or sit on one and have you picture taken. Some of us have no choice but to ride a trike. Not too sure about a 50cc trike tho. Thing is, get what you want and enjoy it

What do you mean by the locks and chain and cable? Sorry if I should know this... There sre locks that attach to the front disc brake. Or a steel cable to put thru the front wheel and around a tree/-pole/immovabke object.

Looks like a Medicare Parade Come back and post again whe you reach their/our/my age (63) When the knees go, the legs go, etc etc, someimes that's the best we can do. But, we're still doing it. Not busitng your balls, just reemphasizing what a much younger person hasn't even thought of yet. (Getting old-but still wanting to ride-something)

Www.ironpony.comGot one right down the street I'm wearing a full face flip up modular. $135 I'm a helmet fenatic Getting hit by a GMC truck while riding a Goldwing or a scoot is still gonna hurt. Best protection is a full face. How much is your head worth? Prodigit I agree with ya on the full face, but disagree on the 45 mph thing I say a guy drop a Triumph rocket at 1 mph and get serious head injuries, ( woman stopped quick at a orange light. He stopped and fell over. No helmet. Cuts and concussion, while virtually stopped.) I was doing 30 when I got hit. So glad I had my full face on. Saved my life, but not my leg. What about the boots that cover the ankle?
