I dont have money for gasket sealant. I do have some black permatex silicone automotive adhesive.
I just removed the Pair system and cut outta some sheet metal a blocking plate for the hole on the block. I need to use a sealant to seal it.
Will what i have work?

Would some of that gasket material people use to block off the entrance to the fuel enrichener on the carb work to block off the holes on the carbuerator?

My floorboard has the battery compartment beneath it and the plastic is in need of repair. Im thinking zipties and then a piece of 1/2 or 3/4" plywood bolted into the existing holes.
Any suggestions?

My scooter was losing power today while running after yesterday cleaning the spark plug. I checked the plug today and it was fouled. I had only ridden it about 7 miles. The valves are noticebly loud also. The plug isnt hidden in a shadow. Its sooty black. Kinda oily too. The pic below is from when i pulled it yesterday.

Ok, bikes been running fine but last night it just died on me. I thought it was outta gas so i put gas in it. Still wouldnt start. I cleaned the spark plug 75 miles ago. It was sooty and oily. Theres a bad exhuast leak due to broken exhaust stud. The battery is fully charged and the engine will turn over.
My question is: where do i start?
I really appreciate when knowledgable people help out riders.

Just cut the metal tab and be done with it. I have no need cut mine . I actually think its a good idea keeping it , considering many of us need to remove the gas cap to remove the underseat compartment , so we can work on our scoots. I always put the cap back on after removing the compartment , but on ocassion I have forgot to. It would be terrible to drop something somewhat big into the tank while your working on the scoot. Think about it , imagine I'm working on my scoot and I leave the gas cap off . I then reach into my pocket to grab my mind altering prescription drugs and NOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! right into the gas tank . now if the bracket was there my unlabeled prescription bottle would be safe an sound right at the top of the tank. But now I can't finish working on her because withdraw has begun to set in !! This whole catastrophe could have been diverted if I had just kept the darn bracket !! That's why I'll take this time to announce that Im selling a replacement bracket for all who read this and had chills run through their bodies. No need to spend years trying to reattach the old cut bracket with ductape and bubblegum ! Just buy my new gas tank hole bracket . this bracket is made of flint so as you install it there is no need to remove the gasoline !! Just use the metal striker " I mean " file , to file the bracket to size ! Just hold the new bracket into place and file it down to size. No need for any glues , tape or welding . this bracket has its own bracket !! And it sets between the cap and the tank !! So hurry while supplies last . so far I have 1 in my inventory so please hurry ! The first 500 callers will receive an empty unlabeled prescription bottle !! For only 19.99 plus shipping and handling. The bracket will be an extra 19.99 plus shipping and handling . so please hurry ! Lol , please dont take seriously . Your're not that much different from 92% of the contributing persons on this forum! I imagine you browse porn a good portion of the day and have a Netflix subscription too. Take my word, you've neither strayed from the pack or have been witnessed by those who matter with any hesitation in your step. Thx for coloring with-in the lines and all. My brain told me that an enthusiast would need there gas tank intact

Ok ok, Just so theres no misinformation in my thread DO NOT at any time use a tool to strike the gas tanks filler stopper ( hand tool or powered device) in an attempt to modify a scooters gas tank!
I havent driven a car in years. I did at one point more than a decade ago go through a very good Tractor Trailer school in Upstate Ny and drove a big rig for a living! Rigs use "fuel" and carry a few hundred gallons.
I know that it takes something with a higher "flash point" like kerosene to act as an accelerant when one desires to ignite Diesal fuel. A lit cigarette wont work where a common road flare will.
This has been fun talking bout' fire, but can someone verify that American Gas Station gas pumps have a "shut-off" or over-fill prevention device?
I cant post a Web link from my phone. Can someone do that? Post a link to explain gas pump overfill technology in Merica? I mean, offer this option to possible discriminating scooter mechanics as they might desire this and NOT my modification. Thanks!
