My package says: .038mm .051mm.063mm .076mm .102mm Is this a desirable gauge set? Will this work for 50cc engine gy6? If those are what you have, IMO, use the .038 on the intake and .051 on the exhaust. That will be the equivalent of roughly .04/.05 which will work fine on a 50cc. Is there any way on itstheride.boards.net to give "respect" points? This is an excellant example of helping another rider! Me being the rider recieving help. Nice post!

Actually .002" is close to .05mm. .005" is close to .13mm .0025"= .06mm .003"= .08mm .004" .1mm .005" .13mm (mm is rounded up) Shoot! I used this gauge once after i bought the used scooter. It ran much better. Before that the engine was "stopping" after it git to normal temps. So do i need metric .003 and .004?

Ok, so to date ive not removed my gmw 50cc M1 2011 model mnf by Zhen Corp in order to measure stock valve size.
I looked and read a few ebay valve head descriptions and some say that the rocker arms work with both 64 and 69 mm valves. There are other ads that read available with either 69 or 64mm valves.
I have seen one or two Taiwanese made products that come with a complete rocker valve arm assembly. That kit costs $219 with stroker crank and is Taiwanese made.
I need to know, if i buy a complete valve head, do the size of the scoots original size valves even matter? The only concern is that most of ghe kits come with only rocker arms and NOT the entire assembly like kn the higher end kits.

Ok, job done. twisted ithe stopper with needle nose pliers and cut it with aviation snips. The cutbends were pushed down and outta the way.
Thx guys. I feel like we mimicked the 1980' hit tv show A Team

Everytime i fill up at the gas station i end up spraying gas all over because of a piece of metal in the hole. Ithe gas station nozzle doesnt go far enough into the hole to prevent gas from spraying all over. I am losing 4 tbs every time i fill. The remedy would be to use a cutting tool and remove this 1/2 inch wide by 1 1/2 inch strip about 2 inches deep inside the gas tank neck.
I am wary of doing this because of the potential of metal shavings and explosions.
Any adviice or experience guys?

catch up... we all pull the complete system off. no freaking rubber plug cause the system is pulled all the way off back to the fuel tank and the intake elbow. its gone maybe an air box vacuum line hooked to the pvc, one for the carb and one for the fuel pump or fuel cutoff valve depending on what you got...and 1 fuel line, everything else is stripped off, and there is more than one style. if you got 2 nipples in the intake elbow, the thing the carb is attached to use one nipple for the carb slide, and the other for the fuel system (pump or fuel cut off) ..dont have to plug nothing, got only one, gonna have to use a splitter, cut the metal tube off at the head and stick a piece of metal between the head and the fitting flange and its done. just because you watched a video doesn't mean we have any idea what you or he was talking about... frankly i have done over a dozen scooters and have no idea about what you speak, there are several nipples for vaccum lines depending on where this random video guy stopped, so for plugs i typically just thread a bolt into a rubber hose that fits the nipple. the real ones are sold at auto parts stores, and called vacuum caps. what goes thru them is air, it injects fresh air into the hot exhaust, rich with oxygen to burn off and unburnt fuel and help complete combustion Ok great answer. Vacumn cap helped immensely. Got a 4 pack at advanced auto fir two-fifty. Quarter inch size.

So what's the problem? You don't want to use the rubber cap with ziptie? [Three posters with responses "explaining" what ive already addressed in my first post, that ive got suitable material for the valve cover! Brilliant. I should of been more clear. I dont know where to source this rubber cap or that it is made of rubber. What has everyone else used to cover the small fitting? Not the valve cover hole that is left! What types of temps will the fitting recieve? What actually goes through the hoses? What does the pair system do?

I watched a video and the guy removed the emissions pair system from a 50cc gy6 engine. Theres a "nozzle" that a hose used to connect to. The video shows the guy putting a rubber "cap" over the fitting and securing it with a zip tie.
Whats a good solution to my problem?
*i plan on using some thin sheet metal for the other hole. I dont have access to a welder.

My Scoot here is just for fun so I have no need to ride in the rain. The Bulk of my scooter riding over the past 20 years has been in third World countries in the Tropical zone as I am a avid Scuba Diver. Riding these in the rain, its not just the water but the particulates of dirt, sand etc. this plays with the Variator and Clutch Parts. The Bulk of the repairs in these places were there scoot is the main transportation is in these parts. If you don't have to I wouldn't. Very nice post. You should hang out more.

I believe it would be cheaper and easier to sell the 50cc and buy a 150cc, unless you want to do the conversion on you own for fun, nothing wrong with that, wrenching for fun is never wrong K
