Whats a file tank vent? I have another canister that is attached to the gas tank... I meant fuel tank vent. The fuel tank needs a vent or negative pressure will build up.

Either way, that whole system needs to go in the trash.
The only thing the system is doing is pushing extremely dirty vapors back into the motor and clogging it for a hippy pipe dream.

If I remember correctly the loose end connects to the file tank vent.
You should the other connection leads to the vent on the valve cover, and the other connection should lead to the airbox.

I was hesitant at first to remove my airbox. But I'm very happy now that I did it. My scoot looks so much better with a unifilter.

Ok, phew, i thought i was losing my mind! Now what about the hole on the stock airbox? Plug it up? Yeah.... Until your unifilter arrives in the mail. Then the air box goes into the trash also.

It's hard to tell with how close in the picture is. Can you provide a wider shot and say what it is connected to?

Ordered it! once I get it and install it ill let you all know how I like it. It certainly looks nicer than the "performance" exhausts you see on ebay for like 80 to 100 bucks. Those just look kinda cheap. Hopefully this one is ok, the price is hard to beat! Let us know. I was thinking about ordering it also. I was just hoping someone would provide a review.

This is a part that i removed. Where does it go? I dont have a spare fuel filter to do the mod you mentioned. That's an EVAP canister. It goes in the garbage.

Yes. Fuel line runs from the tank petcock, inline filter, to carb.
From the intake manifold a vacuum line runs to the carb and tank petcock.
If you have a breather on the valve cover run some extra fuel line to a high point on the frame and place a fuel filter on the end. It's there just to vent an positive pressure from the motor into the atmosphere. The fuel filter on the end prevents dirt from getting into the motor.
Then your done. It's a very easy mod and your motor will thank you for it.

And it looks pretty old, might be time for a replacement. They tend to fail. A replacement might save you some headaches down the road.

Yes vacuum line also connects to the petcock. It is vacuum operated to pump the fuel to the carb.

Fuel line connects to the top. Bottom is for a vacuum line.

Have you checked the valve lash? They may need to be adjusted.

geh3333, I have been curious about the accuracy of my chino tach also. My 157QMJ wants to be around 1800RPMs also. Any lower it sputters and is unhappy. Do you want to test out the accuracy? We can both order a tiny tach and share our results.
