Pyder

After another go round with failing Throttle Body, BRP stepped in with a no cost replacement. I paid for installation only. So, in response to this we rode about 483 miles in the rain, just so glad to be back on 3. Planning our biannual Missouri trip, so it looks like Pyder is it. But that 2015 ACE is calling my name....not my bank. David

Firefighters run Toward the fire while the rest of us run Away. Firefighters! Yep, I told myself upon leaving the U.S. Navy Submarine force, that, if I could help it at all, I will never willingly run toward a fire again. And doggone me, I've broken that promise 3 times. David

There is no such thing as too much HiViz. I have lately backed off from the "They are all out to kill me ." mindset, to more like, I will do everything I can to ensure my safety and visibility on the road. I too wear a HiViz vest and Yellow helmet year round, day or night. I recently added a rather prominent reflective Yamaha sticker to the back of the shiny black topcase . Remember the a prime principle of defensive driving; You, as the defensive driver, will compensate for the mistakes and inattentiveness of others. David

When the lower back said "You won't hold up a GoldWing anymore." There were already 2 maxiscoots in the garage. My Majesty and Sandi's Morphous. Majesty went in the trade in package for Pyder and down to one Maxi we were. Come Sandi's summer vacation, I rode her Morphous some just to keep my hand in, so to speak, and was reminded of how much fun that 250 is. No trouble holding it up and so off to Morgantown WV we go for purchase of another Morphous. This all happened over a period of 2011-2013 and we have been a seven wheeled garage ever since. The 250 to 300 scoots are the closest I have found to the two wheeled experience I missed without the weight penalty and great fuel and maintenance economy. My Morphous is my daily commuter but alas, Sandi does not ride anymore save for 2 up on Pyder, but then again, that's what it's for. Gosh what a rambling discourse..did I contribute an answer to the question??? David

That's exactly what I was wondering. What kind of shape is the charging system in? And yeah, maybe somewhere north of 3K rpm you should see something > 14V. at least that's what the Morphi do. Oh, as part of the charging system, is this an external regulator. As I recall, most stator bikes feature this. David

Here in South Carolina, much the same as L.A. I suppose. (Lower Alabama). I work ourdoors, so good raingear as well as cold weather gear is packed according to season. I ride daily, regardless of the weather and consider it something of a personal challenge. David

My scoot is my daily driver year round. No real adverse effects from rain, just get wet. And the Kendas I switched to really shed the water as well. David

Had an 07 Majesty for 18K trouble free miles. I had the factory wind deflectors and factory touring windshield. You have a great machine there, enjoy! David

I do about a 15mile round trip a day, more sometimes depending on errands before or after work. With what passes for winter here in South Carolina, I ride regardless of temperature. The only stopper is frozen precipitation. According to my outside reading it is now 37F, today's high will be about 53F. I work outside all day anyway so I'm already dressed for it. David[/i]
