Most macho? Firefighter hands down. Anybody can knock a tree down (given the tools and time) but you can't find much more of a macho kind of guy who will quite literally jump into a crumbling burning building to save lives. (even if they are cats) They are heroes besides being macho. (plus they've been known to wear T-shrts that say "Find em HOT, leave em wet)

Firefighter for sure!Lumberjacks are plenty macho and sometimes face a lot of danger: that's a "given". But... As mentioned, firefighters KNOWINGLY go into potentially fatal situations just to save others... INCLUDING our furry friends!
Just click on the picture and look closely at the "paws hug" and eye-contact between that fireman and the rescued pussycat. THAT is mutual LOVE that transcends all barriers including species! That grateful cat is doing its best to say "thank you sir, for saving me. I love you". You just GOTTA love a guy or gal who cares about life enough to risk his or her own.Leo (with a tear in my eye, and gonna go give my pussycat a hug) in Texas

Ditto everything said above. But let's also consider a song about each (and apologies to anyone easily offended as the second is a bit naughty)--
(Monty Python)
(Benny Hill)
Seems to me even the fireman's song is more macho.

Firefighters run Toward the fire while the rest of us run Away. Firefighters! Yep, I told myself upon leaving the U.S. Navy Submarine force, that, if I could help it at all, I will never willingly run toward a fire again. And doggone me, I've broken that promise 3 times. David
