Ok, so I have never really paid a lot of attention as to what I had for a motor in my scooter. Since I have started this build, I'm ready to just throw it all away. Thought this was going to be a pretty simple bolt on build with some quality parts, HA! That is the last thing this has become!!! To start it off, long case engines run 12 and 13" wheels, short case engines run 10" wheels correct? WRONG!!! Apparently after ordering a set of long cases my stupid scooter decided to be a short case variation of some sort! Now this really confuses me because it has a 13" wheel on it, and I am running my room mate's stock long case belt! My cases are completely different from the new cases that I received from KS power. They apparently are just standard long cases though. I just compared them to my room mates long case 150. Now I pretty much have a complete motor section of a scooter sitting in my garage in pieces, but this transmission section has me stuck. The gearbox section of my scooter is pretty much a separate unit, where as the new cases just have a cover that mounts to the cases. Anybody run into this before, or know what to do?

vent line coming off valve cover. Put it inline somewhere. It allows air to exit the engine and not return back in.

You have a huge carb what do you expect? You probably should have stuck with a 28mm carb. I'll report back when I get mine back together.

I'm patiently waiting for my parts to come to finish my motor build for my scooter. Head studs and new cam chain came in today. I also have to change the oil pan gasket and cv boot on my Talon.

The issue of heating it that hot is risk of damaging crank seal and or chain guide depending what side it is on.

I can tell you when I pulled mine, three came out easy and one needed two pair of vice grips to get to get our. Double nutting didn't didn't budge it, and one would just slip so they can be in there. You could look at a bolt extractor for stripped bolts.

Yes, a propane torch should be enough. If you have access to a welder you can weld a nut to the stud then just wrench it out.

Even if the flywheel key sheared it would still spark, it just wouldn't be timed properly
