Thanks Leo I've called around and none of the local scooter shops can actually balance my tires, I'm now checking with the motorcycle shops..None of the local car places were much of a help either. I might just have to contend with mounted unbalanced tires. I was wondering about that myself. Does anybody here mount & balance their own tires? There are a few videos giving tips. Here's an even more El Cheapo method:

(Try to find a station with a dedicated hose too)

It's hard to believe how FAST a half-century goes by. Enjoy the time you have... It doesn't last long! Leo (closing in on the end of the trail) in Texas I hear that. The older we get, the faster it flies by.

I painted a picture of "Tiny"
...at 6' 11" tall, and well over 650 pounds, he was something to behold.
Just goes to show how bikes appeal to everybody!
Ride safe,
Leo
Yikes! What a Beast. Very skilled artwork.

North Central Florida here. Last 2 Winters the low temps were in the high 20's but I've seen it drop to the teens some years. (I hope my Jacaranda trees get bigger & stronger before that happens again!) My car is going on eBay as early as today, so this Winter the scooter will be my only transportation. I only need to leave to get groceries 10 miles away, so I'll be able to wait for the warmer days & the warm part of the day but I'm a total cold weather pussy. Brrrrr.

Not much room for groceries but if money is no object, I'll just have my French maid pick them up in my Deusenberg.

But what I'd really like, is what my granddad drove. He had an affection for AMC Rambler station wagons. My second car was a '60 Rambler. (first was a '60 Bonneville) These Ramblers have a push-button transmission. The seats FULLY recline just like this:

Nice work. Lacquer is the way to go. Enamel takes too long to cure. I use Naptha as a cleaner & thinner, which I believe can be used with both enamel & lacquer.

I jiggled the heck out of every wire I could find but it kept running smoothly. I went for another ride and it died again after about 10 minutes. This time I restarted right away and it started right up and ran fine all the way home. It does sound like it idles very low once it warms up. I was going very slowly this time but I don't think I let off the throttle the last time it stalled. Could it still be the valves, even though it ran fine hot after restarting?

This reminds me of a passage from Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
The author is on a long ride with a friend who just bought a new BMW. They prepare to camp for the night & break out the beers. The friend complains about how his handlebars are able to be shifted, despite the bolt being tightened all the way. They conclude that a shim of some nice soft metal needs to be inserted. The friend laments that the nearest place to get that part is hundreds of miles away. The author smiles and holds up his empty aluminum beer can. The friend is horrified that anyone would even suggest putting "garbage" on his precious, new BMW. They ride the 500 miles with the loose handlebars. The author contemplates that he should have secretly cut a rectangle out of his beer can and scraped the paint off. He could have then said; "I think I have one remaining spare shim from Baron von Krupp's private collection on board?" He could have then dug it out of his pack and presented it to his eager and grateful friend.

Aha. Should I just start her up and begin jiggling wires to see if it cuts off again?
Thank you.

Wow, I never would have thought that. I guess I'd better dig in and see what's going on in there.
Thanks for the help.

I haven't tried to adjust the valves yet. I did see the video for doing that in the help files of this website and it looks pretty simple but with the scooter running so smoothly & quietly, I don't see how I could improve the valve setting.
The first time it cut out, I was cruising between 20 & 25mph. Today I was only going about 3mph.
There is no warning. It instantly goes from purring, to off.
Thanks.

I'll be selling my car in a week & will have to depend on the CFMoto 250 to fetch groceries 10 miles away. So far, I've only taken shakedown cruises around my little development. Twice now, it has just suddenly cut off. It starts instantly and runs very quietly and smoothly and has some pep. When it dies, I have waited a couple of minutes & restarted without any problem. It ran smoothly on the way home each time. The only things I've done to it so far are an oil change & today I switched to corn-free proof.
