OE size on a Helix clone is actually a 110/100-12 front, 120/ -10 rear. That's what it says in the Helix CN250 manual but the CFMoto 250 Fashion manual says this: It may be a misprint because I can't find any 110/110-12 tires. I've decided to buy this. Okay, I just checked motorcycle superstore for more parts and they are confusing me:

Sometimes, I'll slip the clutch and use some rear, to let the bike move below walking speed, waiting for a light to change. When I had motorcycles I used to do that. I would try to never put my foot on the ground. On those long stop lights, it really tests your balance.

That jives with what Retrobrian told us early in the thread. As JerryScript pointed out, I assume this only applies when you're not in a turn? Good thing to know. Thanks. Yes, accelerating out of a turn is good technique, shows you have prepared for the turn by slowing down enough to not need to brake Ya, that feeling is the best part of a ride as long as you've got about 200 yards to work with. That's why I've decided to go with Pirellis. Riding rural is sooo much nicer than being surrounded by cars.

Ya, I think that any scooter that is close to the same color as the pavement can be dangerous, especially in this age of cell phones causing many drivers to only have half their mind on their driving.
I'm thinking of adding a small flagpole & pennant to my rig to make me even more visible.

(fact is, you should try to never need to apply either brake during a turn, only before it, engine braking should be sufficient during a turn if you are riding proactively). You use the rear brake the most if necessary during a turn. Four wheels or two, I usually go full throttle just as I enter a turn. Your point about only going hard on front brake when going straight makes sense. Thanks

Why do some makers use things like 3.5 instead of 110/ or whatever? Is it a Euro thing? Thanks but I think I'm supposed to use tubeless tires?

Back when I lived in Glen Cove & Sea Cliff, a kid named Mike Marantz, who was an heir in the Marantz stereo family, wanted to sell an old beetle that he had. I ended up getting it for $50. '59 split window. I was working at this private school. Old 40 room mansion on 16 acres. Our 3 man maintenance crew had a wing we lived in. Our bathroom was 3 rooms! Everybody disappeared by 3 o'clock and we had the place to ourselves AND on weekends too. Anyway, I painted the car in the garages there. I then proudly drove up to the house and furiously pumped the now non-existent brakes as I crumpled my fender against a guard post at the end of the driveway. First and last time I ever drove it. I ended up quitting soon after and I don't even remember what I did with the car. That paint job lasted approximately 100 feet.

I found a few bad reviews on youtube. The comments were very polarized, either loving or hating them. The Amazon reviews were mostly pretty good, especially from the "verified purchase" commenters. I found an old review here that was very thorough.

Ya, I was looking at those Pirellis. They offer a 110/100 too. Those Shinkos are tempting though. I found one with a different tread pattern, still rated P, for only $32 I found some other info though, saying that you should never mix tires that have different speed ratings. I can't find any 120/ -10 tires rated P.

I've been researching this today. My front calls for 110/110-12 & my rear is 120/ -10 I can't find any 110/110 tires? That's what the manual for the CF Moto Fashion says but I checked my tire & it is a 110/ Most of those I've found seem to be rated J, which is for a max speed of 62. That is the max speed for this scooter, even when new, so shouldn't be a problem but I just found a tire rated P (94mph) for $37, shipped. Is that a wise choice?

When my car is sold & I have some cash, I'm going to make a big grocery run & then pull my scooter apart & try to figure out which parts I need to order. One thing I know that I'll need, in the not too distant future, is tires.
Where's the best place to shop for 10" & 12" tires?

I picked up some gear oil when I bought engine oil. I haven't changed the gear oil yet. I found a manual for my scooter. It says: gearbox oil: SAE 10W-30/SE That sounds like motor oil?? The gearbox oil I bought says; 85w-140 Wassup wid dat?

"When you don't stop the enemy "over there", you'll most certainly be fighting them "over here" Problem is, we were attacked by 15 Saudis, over HERE. There were no al Qaeda in Iraq at all. Saudis behead a lot more people than ISIS does and they treat their women like Michael Vick treats dogs but we praise them. Randomly killing a bunch of goatherders who may not even have heard of 911 does nothing except create multitudes of new terrorists. How would you feel if a bunch of Ukranians started killing Americans because we sort of look like Russians? George Bush was in cahoots with the Saudis. He flew them all out of the U.S., even while all flights were grounded. There are 28 pages that George Bush doesn't want you to see that may be revealed soon. Congress people have read them and they confirm that Bush and the Saudis were up to some dirty stuff. The 28 Pages

Is your motor air cooled or water cooled? From everything I've ever read reg oil in an air cooled motorcycle engine is to NOT use any synthetic. I don't know the reason but everything I've read insists on using stander fossil oil on an air cooled engine. I haven't heard that before. I have a radiator.
